Mix 1 T. dishwashing soap with 1 cup cooking oil. Use 3 T of this to 1 quart of water & spray directly on the plants.

Steep several cloves of garlic (bruised or chopped) with up to a tablespoon of red chili flakes in a quart of water for several days. Spray directly on plants.

I was emailed this. Put listerine in a spray bottle and spray it around picnic tables to keep mosquitoes away. For flies put water in a ziplock bag about half full. Zip and lay on table. flies are afaid to drown so they stay away.

I read somewhere where you use a jar of water with pennies in the bottom to get rid of flies. I thought it was pretty far out there so I never tried it. We don't get many flies here. The ones that give me grief get whacked.
