If you have a humidifier on your heater/ac turn it up in the winter. Moisture holds heat better than dry air. Then in the summer turn it down so it will not hold the heat in. Hope this helps.

We don't have a humidifier on ours. ![]() I have started keeping the lights off during the day - as much as possible - and opening the blinds for natural light. We keep the thermostat on 68 pretty much year round. It's the only temp that's comfortable for both DH and I (he's hot natured, I'm always freezing )I also set the washing machine for the shortest cycle (6 minutes) and leave the lid open. When the clothes finish agitating, the will soak until I close the lid and start the draining cycle. This means our washer is running 8 minutes less for every load. And we do A LOT of laundry so I'm sure it's adding up! ![]() I can't wait for it to warm up so I can hang some laundry out to dry and not use the dryer so much. I finally got DH to put up a line last summer.I'd love to see other's tips for conserving electricity! |

Hi everyone, just a suggestion and helpful hint for laundry. This is what I have been doing. All the loads one after another. But I take the ones out of the wash and start the Air Dry Process. Meaning I do the towels first. These will be placed in the final dryer load of the day. They have been air dryed for at least an hour or more. It really cuts down on dryer time. Hope this helps. |
