| OMG help!!kids got in hair dye.
my four year old managed to scale up to the top shelf of our closet and open a bottle of burgandy hair dye, and dump it all over mt 2 yr olds hair! her blonde hair. she only got the color, not the activator, and i rinsed it out less than 5 minutes after she did it. but she still looks like little orphan annie. is there anythin i can use to take this our without trashing her hair? if not how long can i plan on having a child with orange hair? kids!

Yikes! Maybe try using a shampoo made for blondes? Or call your hairdresser....

That stinks! I remember reading somewhere that dish detergent helps remove hair dye, so do clarifying shampoos. Good luck!

1) Take a picture - this will be funny someday 2) Call a salon to see if it will come out without the activator 3) If it won't, ask them what they would recommend...

Dish soap is your best bet. Leave it on her hair for a few before you rinse it out. It might take a few time's being as red is the hardest color to remove from the hair! Good Luck! Let us know how it works!

Can the box hair dyes get it blond? or am i going to have to go into the hair salon to get it done? My hair is brown with blond in now

If you want to dye your hair a much lighter coler, there is a product that will remove your natural color. After you do it you will look like an albino. Then you apply the blonde color that you want. This is considered a double process. You can find it in most stores that carry hair dye. Good luck!

It is okay, my oldest ds cut off ALL of my dd's hair about a month ago. She is 2 1/2 and had never had a haircut. It was beautiful auburn/brown, curly at the ends and soft as could be. She didn't have bangs either. Now she looks like peter pan, but worse if possible. Like a cute little boy. I cried every time I looked at her for about a week. It is funnier every day, but I could still cry when I tuck her in at night and don't see all of that beautiful hair on her pillow. ![]() Even if it is a lighter shade of red, it will grow and will be funny someday....or so everyone keeps telling me. |

I wanted to be a bleach-blonde like my best friend in junior high. I figured I could just buy a bottle of blonde hair dye and get the same results she had. Uhhh, nope. I'm a brunette with A LOT of red undertones... I looked like Carrot Top for about a month! Thank God it was summer and I didn't have to go to school. I'm 39 now and my mom STILL loves telling that story. |

Couponmom--im a hair stylist....and your best bet to go blonde would be to gradually get some high lights....If you don't want to spend a ton of money at the salon, you can get a partial high light instead of a full....be careful with the at home box dyes...I've made the mistake of trying to take my hair from brown to blonde at home and it ended up a few nice shades of orange! There is a color remover product that you can put on your hair that strips all color off....its is super smelly though....but it does work!

Go to Sally hansens they have a product that removes only the dye color not the real hair color, I have used this many times it's not a bleach so it's not harsh, Just make sure if you do it that you wrap something around the tot's head and don't let him touch his hair put gloves on him/her good luck
