I love yard sale, especially at the end of the town wide yard sales so much free stuff.

I got a free practically new hutch (I did ding it moving but it's still beautiful)

In the past I've gotten free dressers, night stands, tv stands, free standing cupboards ect.
(just wish I didn't move so much, seems I am always leaving things behind or can't take everything)

I also got a wooden spice cabinet for $7 last month.

I love garage sales too! They are everywhere around here, you can stay pretty busy all weekend going to all of them! Some of our recent finds include a gas grill for $8, 2 pressure canners for $3 each and a brand-new manual push mower for $10 (retail on that was $200!). I get most of my kid's clothes at garage sales too, usually for no more than 25 cents a piece.

I love going to yardsales in richer parts of the state since I can get most things new or like new! But I don't snub the ones that are in other areas, especially after moving!

Looooove yard sales! Especially since my stepkids are young, so clothes for them are super cheap and usually still in really good condition!

Me too!! One time, these "rich" people sold someone a new $200 coach purse with the tag still on it for $20!!!! I was 2 seconds late because I was parking my car then when I was checking out this other lady infront of me had the whole Louis vuitton luggage for $50!! I was like dang, that's just my luck!! But it wasn't Meant to be have y'all ever been too late by seconds and missed a great deal??

Yes!!!!!!! Some rich people here sold tons of Miss Me jeans ($100+ retail, very popular here) for $3 each. My daughter begs me for them but I can't afford that. I was so sad to miss that deal

OMG Yes, I've been looking everywhere for this free standing corner shelves and I saw a yardsale with them so we turned around and literally as we were getting out of the car someone was picking them up and loading them!!!

The sales here are phenomenal . It is not uncommon for most yard sales to have brand new with tag items for $1.

I seek the smaller items like brand new sunglasses, test strips, brand new higher end facial care products, etc to avoid retail costs.

I got
2 new fusion razor refills - free!!
Zrike dishes set that retails for over $400 for $5 bucks!!! I didn't know they were expensive, just liked them and needed more plates
Hot wheels semi car hauler for $2
metal dumptruck for $1
huge bag of office supplies, envelopes, photo paper etc. for $5
last week I got a pair of aeropostle jeans for my step daughter for $3

Dd and I went this morning and found afew goodies!

3 pairs of old navy shorts for me,$1 each
Book for DH, $1 (higher than I normally pay, but it's hardback and looks new)
5ft tall animated/mechanical witch for our annual Halloween party, $3
Memory foam mattress topper, $2 (been looking for something to make dog beds from ans foam is so expensive!)
Cat scratch post, new, $3

Oh, and forgot to mention, MIL found a new Alphani dress with tags for me for $5! Perfect for our cruise!

New week for garage sales...in St. Lou we have sales on Wednesdays and Saturdays. No great finds today. I only purchased one item, a retro looking Club aluminum Dutch oven in an awesome turquoise color for $3. Perfect size to take to the lake and leave down there!

We are remodeling our home and needed to get everything out, so we had a "blow out sale" last weekend. Everyone left very happy. Not very expensive stuff, but I sold it pretty cheap to get it out the door! Our rich people think their stuff is worth a lot more than it is and they try to sell their stuff at resale shop/consignment store prices instead of garage sale prices!

I got a nice solid computer desk and a small end table for $20 all together
We were going to get my daughter the little kitchenette but the woman wanted $15.....for an obviously used kitchenette
So, we passed on that. Her grandmother got her one for free since someone was tossing it out. It's in better condition than the one that was at the yardsale

The yard sales this weekend were terrible except one. My son wanted a Rock band 2 set with guitar, microphone and drums. The lady swore the set worked, the disc was in perfect condition and I had everything. The disc is in bad shape and I am missing pieces to the set. I sent an email and I have not received a response.

"The exception" was a higher end garage sale with Pottery Barn and Pottery Barn Kids items. Everything was brand new. I picked up a $5 PBK Curious George Puzzle for my son, a cute heating/cold pack bear for $3 and Estee Lauder make up remover bottles for $.50 each.

I've decided that I am attending higher end sales only and no electronics.

Love yard sales as well! Always exciting to hear what others find.
Not great ones around my small IL town lately, but some decent .50 summer clothes for various family members. I'm itching to find some furniture to redo though There's also Facebook garage sale groups (but prices are pretty high sometimes) and free groups (set of Tv trays for free woo!) for my area, so I peek at those as well.

That's awesome! Rich areas are no fun for me, everything costs as much as the retail price. Years ago I've tried to buy things at garage sales and sell them on ebay. Bargaining here is such a pain. The odds are that I'm most likely going to get ripped of, its amazing. Its not like back in the 90s when things were just .50, 1.00, or 25.00 for things that are expensive. Craigslist.org also have great deals.

I've found that the resale market is tough since 2010. I purchased $3 Timberlands NWT at a garage sale. Three weeks later, the $115 shoes sold for $20 on Ebay. These shoes should have sold for $50-$60 in a less depressive economy.

I found NIP sealed Avent Grow and Go Feeding sets for $.25 each this morning. A set retails for $29.99. I am hoping these sell quicker.
