I'm with you on that Ipad, can't afford one either. Heard today that HP's tablets are out there for anyone wishing to pick up a decent tablet for stuff. If there's a store near you, it may be worth your while to check! Blessings,

I bought a pandigital novel 9" on black friday for 80 bucks... i still need to purchase office suite pro so that i can type my stuff into a document on the table but it does everything else i needed it to do. Not as cool as an ipad however it was quite the bargain.

I want an iPad very badly, but, I can't justify it when I have internet at work, internet at home, unlimited internet on my smartphone....argh! I really want to justify it, though!

I do like the Samsung Galaxy tab, but, they are close to the price of the iPad, so, no bargain there.

I'm curious to see if anyone has any info on the less expensive ones.

Just got the Kindle Fire, cant figure out how to get/use a spreadsheet on there. Anyone know of a web page or app that would be good on the go (that is compatable with the Fire). Fairly intuitive to use so far but I havent done much with it yet.

Google Documents maybe?

You can access your spreadsheets on all devices and they're up to date on all!

I love my galaxy tab!! I have apps that make shopping lists for me, was able to scan my stockpile into it and can view the list at any time. The app even takes off coupons so I KNOW that the total I came up with is correct.

DH has a smartphone, one that can create its own hotspot... and I just log into that when we are together and able to view ecoupons, Meijer coupons, etc.

Mostly though when actually shopping, I have the afullcup app, plus my shopping list app working and its great!

We have Sprint, and with them we were able to do an "add to bill" type plan for the tab and phone. So instead of paying it off all in one shot we can pay with no interest over time to Sprint.

One thing I don't like about the Fire is the lack of native Exchange support.

The Fire runs a version of Android but they have removed the native email app.

Does it come with any document apps?

I use Out of Milk. It has many features that I wanted and needed. I thought it was only 1.99 to upgrade to the full version, but its 4.99. However the only thing you're missing is the ability to sync with other devices and add coupons. All the ability to add your stockpile items and quantities and create/edit shopping lists are there.

The one thing I LOVE about it is it keeps track of what I have previously paid for items so it automatically tracks my current rock bottom price!

I don't think I really understand what you're asking. However when you make a pantry list, there is a button to click on for add new item. You can either then select whether to speak the name of the product, use the tabs camera or phone camera to scan the barcode, or type/select the name of the product from a list. Things like spices you can also use a bar to add how much you have left of that product(like half full or almost empty) or how many you have.

I was wondering if I could store the UPC as well. It looks like I can in the notes area. I often need UPCs when I'm in the store and I'm doing a special order.

Oh ok, yeah I haven't played with it for doing that, however if you scan a barcode it does search for the product name and provides that, but as far as accessing what the barcode is I haven't tried to do that. If it's a barcode it doesn't recognize then it will ask for the product name and then the next time you scan it, it automatically retrieves it.

This is just what I wanted. Thank you so much for posting about it! I tried a few and hated them but this is perfect! I bought it and I'm building my pantry list online now.
