Homemade bodywash

I've seen lots of recipes for homemade laundry detergent and hand soap. I was wondering if any of you made homemade body wash and how you did it?

This one looks pretty simple.

1 cup of Suave shampoo (usually you can get a bottle for around a dollar-fifty-ish), 1/2 cup of water (comes out of your faucet, hopefully), and 3 tablespoons of table salt or Epsom salt. Combine and whisk until frothy.

You can probably do it with whatever brand of shampoo you want (a bottle of VO5 is cheaper, but might cost more per ounce if I remember correctly). I haven't tried it, so I don't know for sure if it's a good recipe, but I don't see why it shouldn't work.

Thanks! I haven't been able to find many good deals on women's body wash and thought it might be cheaper to make myself. I do have lots of men's body wash though that I gave to my brother. I might give this a try tomorrow

I don't really see how that is much cheaper than buying a bottle of body wash, or using bar soap. Both wash can be bought for $1.00-$1.50 in pretty much all stores.

Well, a bottle of Suave is 32 oz, which is four cups. You only need one cup of it (plus the half-cup of water and some salt) to make the body wash. So it costs roughly a quarter as much as the body wash you mention.

Edit: I screwed up my math. I was raised with this system, but I always think "16 oz in a cup" when it's supposed to be "8 oz in a cup" and "16 oz in a pound." Sometimes I really wish we'd switch to the metric system.

I did this yesterday and it worked great. I used some dove shampoo that I had gotten for under $1.
