I always keep an eye out for printers at thrift stores and garage sales that have ink cartridges that are compatible with my printer. Most times you can find them for $5 or less. Most times the ink cartridges in them are over half full.
After swiping the ink from them I redonate the printer.

I always check out printers people have @ curbside! Yeah most likely people are just upgrading to a better printer...not because there's quit working!

Well just to get the ink cartridges from the printers is worth $3 savings @ Staples on a new ink cartridge...except some brands they don't take.

I have found the same HP PSC 2175 all in one printer that I bought from QVC a few years ago which mine was working fine until I needed to replace the ink then all the printer did was print tests yep over & over I wasted enough paper both sides like 20 sheets worth! I called for tech support & they told me the printer heads most likely are worn! They wouldn't give me any other info since the warranty expired on it 27 days ago wasn't going to pay $70 for tech support what the guy told me in order to continue helping me!

Sometimes you can buy a new printer for much less than the ink!

So while browsing @ the thrift shop (in walking distance from my house) I found a newer HP model than mine for less than $20 except it was missing the cords yeah I thought since it was very similar I could use the ones I had from my other HP printer but they were different the USB port plug only fit!....I never ordered the power cord but a few days later.....

I find out by curbside my same exact HP printer which I always loved using my SD card slot to print pics...so I took it home & DH says people put junk @ curbside I said no always! It works fine & now I can even use my new ink for it when the ink they left in it is empty!

Now I need to find my CD-ROM to install it on my other pc. Because the PC I was using has a problem w/the wireless card so printing online coupons, etc. it would be picky & sometimes work.

I finally got my new printer which is a Brother! Got a great deal @ Staples was on sale for $149.99 w/a $50 rebate which I filled out online & using the $25 coupon off a $50 purchase or more, my $50 DH Mom & Dad gave me so I think it cost me about $25 but now to figure out how to hook it up it's wireless too

I just bought a HP 1010 that copies in color or B&W, scans and prints.

It was $38.88 a few weeks ago at Target and it is just the neatest little thing!

I know, I know ~ it is just a "starter" cartridge, but I can refill and it has color and black ones!

I get all my ink on ebay from a seller named "powerselling2006" (no, I don't know them). I get 5 color and 5 B&W cartridges for my Epson for about $25 shipped!

I have found brand new ink cartridges at my local thrift store for $3.00. So I always make sure I know what cartridges I need wrote down, otherwise I can't remember.

We get our ink from pricewatch.com, search ink for our printer and it generates the best price out there--we just got 3 black inks shipped for 10.00 total!

My Canon MP130 AIO was one of the last Canon printers made before they switched to the chipped cartridges that are not readily available yet on the aftermarket. It uses the older bubblejet cartridges and I got blacks for $0.74 each and colors for $0.94 each!

Shipping costs were reasonable last time I ordered & I've used several of both cartridge types & never a problem yet.

If they aren't cheap for your particular printer, you can also check 123inkjets.com. I ordered my previous batch from them & they always seem to have an active coupon for 20-30% off (check retailmenot.com for online codes). They also give pretty good cash back on FW & Ebates.

I save my cartriges and refill them a couple of times make a x with magic marker to keep track of. when they are done this way, I take them to office max for a free ream of paper.

I use Megatoners because of Kville......but I might try the Ebay thing MPayne is talking about too!

Has anyone tried to get a refill kit and do it yourself? I usually buy my through 123ink or what ever the name is through ebates. I wish I had stocked up on the Monday after Black Friday as I got back $5 something for purchasing one, but I was short on cash. But they usually last me about a month and a half or so maybe longer.

I think walgreens will refill a black cart for about $10.

Walgreens does have cheap refills I usually go there or I buy the Wal-Mart brand!
