Seriously, I feel a terrible stabbing pain, still, when I get my period. I got the copper IUD inserted in July, and I knew this could happen but was hoping it would start to lessen after a while. I can dal with it when I am at home, but unfortunately I am at work, and if you k ow me by my posts, you know I work onboard Amtr@k trains. I wouldn't say that I'm going to cry from the pain because well, I'm not. But it is BAD. It makes me stop, you know what I mean? Any advice? I can possibly get the van driver to take me to a Meijer when get to grand rapids if you can suggest some thing for me to buy. Thanks sooo much...

Have you checked with your doc on this? I can't imagine it's supposed to hurt this much and you don't want any tears in there...

Is it cramps or something else? I have a copper IUD and never experienced stabbing pain. I agree with Jewelfaerie-- you might need it checked out. Feel better!

I just had the Paragard implanted in December and I feel like I am giving birth to my ovaries. I take Midol and this seems to help. I am so sorry and I can definitely feel your pain and mine.

My insertion wasn't terrible (no children) but I now have a bacterial infection. Yay for antibiotics!! My doctor tried to talk me out of it but I am determined to be without any added hormones. I was told that I should not have high expectations for the first 3-9 months and that it could be miserable at times. Midol is my new best friend. I may need to stockpile that!!

Yeah, I didn't want to do hormones either, but after I get it taken out, I may switch back to the patch. Anything is better than this.

I was offered the Essure procedure but it is not reversible. I didn't research it but it sounded like it was relatively new in the US.
