| I'm sure some of your occasionally buy your son or daughter a shirt, jeans or sweatpants........only to find they have shrunk in the dryer........OR they have just outgrown them. Well, I've been doing this for years, but I'll pass on the tip. I fill a spray bottle full of water. This works on COTTON shirts or jeans. Spray the bottom of the jeans with water.................get them pretty wet. Now stand across the bottom of the jeans and pull up at the top. See how much longer you made the leg? Now do the other side to match. I just did some of my toddlers SHIRTS last night. I bought him 5's thinking they would be good until next year, but for some reason, they shrunk A LOT. I hung them on hangers and sprayed the bottom half (front and back) and "pulled straight across the bottom, being careful to keep in straight and hung them to dry over night. Next morning...........his clothes have gained a size. My 10 yr. old son is REALLY tall for his age. I do this a lot with his pants..........or sleeves of his shirts!! I also use a water bottle to spray shirts that are a little wrinkled the night before we wear them. I rarely ever have to iron, which is a plus! My hubby has even started stealing my spray bottle to spray over his work shirts. Hope this helps someone!

Wonder if it works on clothes that don't fit because you read afc at 11:00 at night and eat your really cheap cookie dough?? Worth a try!!

I do this all of the time with my sweats, except I wash as usual, then pull before placing in the dryer on low heat. You can also do this and just hang your clothes to dry if it is not too humid in your area. I have a place in my mudroom that I do this, pull, put on hangers and air dry. I am tall (5' 8") so I need all the length on my pants I can get. I also found that I don't have as much shrinkage if I always dry my cottons on med or low heat. Good tip though! You can also spray water on wrinkles, then put in the dryer for a few minutes until dry, remove immediately and hang them up...Can you tell I HATE to iron too! |

I iron in my dryer. I usually dry the clothes half way. Then, when I have time to take them out and hang them, I turn the dryer back on for 20 minutes (with a damp towel in it if they became too dry), put on a timer for 20 minutes and when it goes off I hang wrinkle free clothes right away. I usually only have half a load in the dryer too which eliminates wrinkles.
