Can you freeze in glass casserole dishes?

I have some smaller corningwear dishes, I was wondering if I freeze lasagna or something in this type of dish, will the dish be ok? Do I need to let it thaw completely before putting it in the oven so the dish doesn't break? TIA - don't want to buy a lot of disposable pans if I can reuse the ones I have!

Yes, you can. Let it thaw before you cook it.

You can also line the dish with plastic wrap before you put the food into it. Put it in the freezer, let it harden then pop it out of the dish. Wrap it up in the plastic wrap, then put that into a ziploc freezer bag labeled with what it is and the date. When you're ready to cook it, just unwrap it, put it back in the original dish to thaw & then cook as you normally would.

Saves space in the freezer!

I line mine with foil and then pop out when the dish is frozen so I can use my pan.

We do that all the time. Like others have said let it cool before freezing and sit on the counter awhile before cooking (we don't always thaw it completely)

I do this all the time. I scour yardsales for baking dishes! I found nearly a dozen at a yard sale last summer for 50 cents a piece. I'm set for bulk cooking. I save time and money by making several at a time. And ohh it's soooo nice coming home to something ready to pop into the oven!

Can you freeze a fresh made pie (cherry) in a glass pie dish for 3 to 4 days?
