I emailed Enfamil when I had my twins to see about the free case for Mom's of multiples. The girl said they don't do that but to ask a rep. Like I know the Enfamil reps. My SIL works at a Gen Phys office and called the Enfamil rep and they sent her some stuff to give us. Our Peds office also puts back formula for my twins. We usually walk out with anywhere between 2 to 4 cases of formula each visit. So we've been really lucky that we've only had to actually run out and buy a can of formula 1 x (paying near full price, small coupon and no formula checks ) and that was the other night. I wanted to die when I had to pay $10 for a can of formula that I knew was only going to last 2 days at the most. I try to get a few extras when CVS or WAGs has a good sale and I have ECBs, RR, or $/$$ but I've been slacking lately and boy did I regret it the other night. Luckily my SIL had some more formula for us we just needed to go to her house and pick it up.

When my girls were babies I would ask regularly and I was told they didn't have them everytime.A friend of mine used to work in a OBGYN office used to get free cases of fornula all the time. Not only from her office but from the rep that would come in. Also, if your child is on a specific formular for health reasons then your doctor can give you a prescription for the formular and your insurance should cover it. I learned that from another friend of mine. Her child was on some very expensive formula for health reasons and the doctore wrote her a prescription and it was covered. She just had to pay her co-pay. |

I just called the enfamil phone number as suggested by another. The case that she was offerring on the line was for premie babies right now, but she said she would mail me any available coupons/samples as she could for the type that we buy. Any free stuff is worth the 3 minute phone call.

I was always afraid to ask because I was getting wic when ds was on formula, I know, I'm a big baby. Anyways, I didn't think she would give me anything because of that.

| How would the rep know that you are on Wic? Don't ever be afraid to ask.

Yes, don't be afraid! I am on WIC currently, but the way my little boy eats, we usually have to buy a little bit at the end of the month. But, I made some phone calls and sent some emails and ended up getting a few free samples of the powder. I also emailed enfamil and similac and told them I didn't get their diaper bags in the hospital and asked if they had any to send out. Both companies did, and they each came with formula and other samples. It was pretty cool.

With the birth of my last child in 2006 I was given a card to fill out and mail to my local formula rep to request the special formula for him DS was born 6 weeks early and spent 10 days in NICU for breathing and jaundice. The rep sent a case (which was 4 cans of the powder) to my home free of charge. I breastfeeding him for 6 weeks and then I had a light heart attack and was given medicine that I could not breastfeed with. My heart doctor changed the meds but after being hospitalized for a week, the damage was already done. I never could get him to go back to nursing full time and had to supplement formula. |

Just at tip, I continue to call Enfamil occasionally - my son is now 8 months. Even to ask a silly question, they answer and then they ask you your name and address and mail you a check. Sometimes its only 3 bucks, or they may send you a small can if you complain your checks don't seem to come as often... happened to me |

I have twins and I told my ped to tell the formula rep to send me 2 cases... I got 12 cans of ready to feed nutramigen and 12 cans of ready to feed the regular kind. I also call the formula companies periodically and they send me another can of powder. Ask at your pedi.. they have rebate forms too! FOR ANYONE WITH KIDS ON ALIMENTUM OR NUTRAMIGEN!!!--- ask your prescription plan.. my son's formula is covered by it. I pay $35 copay for 30 cans of ready to feed Nutramigen per month. The doctor had to give me a letter stating the medical need for it to send to the insurance company as per their request. Once the prescription plan approved it then I got a prescription from the doctor and CVS fills it each month.

Does anyone know if they give out free samples of the Prosobee formula? That is what my son is on and I have such a hard time getting samples of it. I got one from Enfamil and my dr doesn't have it as samples. I wonder if I could get some more if I called. |

My DD is on nutramigen, because of a milk allergy. We don't qualify for WIC, and I asked the ped about samples. He gave me several cans my first visit, and then then he didn't have any more samples the next time. He filled out a form called helping hands helping kids, and sent it to the enfamil rep. Mead Johnson, then proceeded to send us a full case of the ready to feed nutramigen...It doesn't hurt to ask..Also, if anyone shops at Safeway. They have their ready to feed quart cans on sale for 2/10 dollars through tomorrow. Ends up being way cheaper than the powder stuff.. thanks for all the great info! |

I don't know about enfamil but the last time I was at the peds I asked about samples. They gave me a bunch of the ready feed bottles and one can of powder because they only had one can left. The dr told me to contact similac (that's what my ds is on, the soy formula) and ask for the free case. I did and they said they would send me a can not a case. Hey formula is formula right? Anyway, I called the peds and told them the response so they said they'd talk to the rep next time they came in. I got a call from the peds a short while later saying that the rep said he couldn't give me a case. Oh well, at least now I know to ask for samples everytime I go in.

my baby recently had the stomach virus and the nurse told us to switch to soy until things cleared up. She told me to just come by the office and pick up samples so I would not have to by the new formula just for a few days since I would be switching back to what we were orginally using. She added that it expired soon and they needed to give it away anyways. So, when I got there they had a big bag full of 8 oz ready to feed bottles of similac soy. It was a huge help! And I didn't even ask if they had samples. They just offered and told me to pick it up! yay! |

So I took someone's advice from on here and called Enfamil and Similac and told them I hadn't received the diaper bag in the hospital. Enfamil gave me a hard time, but did send it (no formula was in it though!!!) and Similac told me I had to wait until I received an email and then call back which I still haven't received an email yet. My DS has a dr. appt. on tues so hopefully they will have some samples, although they never seem to.

I was a perinatal RN for 20 years . When one of the nurses or unit employee had a baby a formula rep would pony up a case of formula. Alas those days are gone....only the REALLY needy (read doctors) get a complimentery case of formula. So sad.......

| Isn't it? I was so upset when I took my son to the doctor's office the other day because when I asked for samples, they were so rude about it. I've never had a problem asking before, but they acted like I was stealing from them when all they gave me was one concentrated can (which I am very grateful for). I just don't understand why the people who truly need it can't get it, but the ones who don't need it get all the help in the world. And you would think that they would keep more formula on hand, especially the more popular ones like Enfamil Lipil. And they don't have to act like I'm stealing by asking.

My granddaughter was a preemie, born at 28wks in June of this year and her doctor has given her a prescription for the Enfamil AR Lipil so that she can get it through WIC but my daughter still has to end up buying a couple cans at the end of the month. She never got the Free Diaper Bags either as her baby was born so fast and then transferred. She is currently PG again and due in July. Im wondering if I were to email Enfamil if they would send her the Preemie Case and the Diaper Bag? Any thoughts?

I called today about the free case. My dd is on a specialized formula and it's wicked expensive! The rep said he had no clue what I was talking about. He did, however, ask if I had checked with my insurance to see if they would cover it which I have. They said it wasn't included since it was over the counter. Enfamil offers a specialized packet to send to insurance companies to assist with getting my formula covered by insurance. That should come in 2 weeks. He also said it didn't show that I had signed up for enfamil family beginnings, which I have twice, but recently moved. He said that was ok and I signed up again. I told him I hadn't signed up again because I knew I was just gonna' get a can of next step and he said he would send me a specialized pack of the formula we need along with some coupons, etc. I'm so glad I called!

I asked at the appt a few weeks ago if they had any enfamil next step lipil samples they could give me. They gave me a box of 8 bottles w/ the premade formula that had 2 oz each in it. The dr said that was all they had in the office. She also gave me a rebate form to send in for $20 back when you spend $40 in one trip. She was very nice and I was grateful for the samples and rebates. |
