I was at Freds today and saw Airwick spray on clear. for .50 each because the caps were broken. I was so happy that I picked four and thought that I could use the buy 1 get 1 free coupons. The young girl working the register asked the other employee who has more experience if she could use the coupons on the airwick. She said no because it was an item "as is" not part of the clearance items? I don't understand? I know that once they say no on something I just don't fuss with them because I'll have to see them again. But is this true and how should I approach this next time? Help.

I think that it depends on store policy. Ask for the store manager and ask him or her for a printed copy of the policy. That way you know exactly what you can and can not use in each store! This works well for me but YMMV. PM me if you need further help.~ E.

thats weird i use coupons on clearance all the time but maybe she was right because its an as is product

there may be truth to this. previously, I found pink Olay ribbons on clearance for 2.12 and I tried to use the $2 MQ and register wouldn't take the MQ! I had to ask the SM how different it was if it was just a regular sale where they take a coupon and if its a clearance item. She said they will NOT be reimbursed for coupons used on a sale item . True or not, they can keep their items on clearance
