Craziness at the one I went to at 8:15 this morning. Everyone was getting toilet paper and paper towels and diapers. One person had a whole cart full of diapers and just left it unattended so no one would take them off the shelf. The lines were long, but totally worth it!

There's a link on another thread with closing stores. All closing stores went 50% today and will go 75% on anything left next wed!!!

I got $394 groceries for $62!! It was slammed no buggies and no parking but SO worth it!!!

The Bottom Dollar grocery stores in Lee Hall and Newport News (on Jefferson Ave. near Main Street), Virginia are both closing. I went to the Newport News store this morning. They opened at 8am and I pulled in the parking lot at 8:08. Couldn't find a parking place...then couldn't find a shopping cart. It was an absolute mad house. Got all of this for $23. Only .74 per item!


I also went back this afternoon with my baby formula coupons and got all of this formula for $34. Only $3.40 per container!

It was insane! Had to wait in line just to get a parking place & then wait in the parking lot for a cart. Checking out was 7 or 8 deep in each lane. Everyone had their shopping carts piled high & then they announced on the speaker that their credit & debit card system had crashed because customers were purchasing so many items in each transaction. They apologized that the system couldn't ring up that many items & they requested everyone pay with cash or check. After 30 minutes they rebooted the system & asked everyone to break their purchases into several instead of checking out in one transaction. Before the 50% sale my total was $430. After coupons & 50% off my total was $140.

Our's was crazy too, but they had plentyof employees on staff and everything went smoothly. I seriously doubt if there will much left by next Wednesday for a 75% off sale. That would be awesome though!! I didn't have coupones, but it was still an awesome deal!!

Mine was crazy. Went about 4 p.m. and couldn't find a space. There were box trucks there from various charities buying too. I managed to find a fair amount of things but the lines were sooooooo long I had to wait for an hour to check out. Still a cart full of items for $65.00 wasn't bad. I doubt there will be anything left on next Wednesday either.

My store was complete and utter craziness. I got there right and everyone was already heading in. Of course they ran out of buggies only three people ahead of me . Luckily there were hand baskets and my wife was with me so she waited for a cart. 40 minutes later she had joined me in shopping. We got $418 worth of stuff for $72. Not bad considering there were six packs of diapers in that and 5 things of laundry detergent It took so long I thought I was going to be late to my classes. It would have been tough to explain that I missed class because I was couponing......Overall pretty good. I just hope there is a little left next Wednesday. Some stuff was a good deal but not good enough for me to buy it but at 75%...then we are talking college student budget.

I got to mine about 9:45, parking lot was packed and I figured not much would be left but there was plenty to make the trip worthwhile. I bought most things with coupons, used about $45 in coupons! Not a lot I know but good enough for me. I also bought the normal things like cereal and such so my total was about $321 with a savings of about $400. I probably could have done better but I mostly bought things we usually buy and things I had coupons for. I got some good deals like some Valentines M&M's that I had coupons for, not very often do we get the 50% off seasonal candy before the holiday! Used the Trident coupon for $1 off 3, not free like the Up2U gum but I don't like that gum anyway.
