I read this on another site and tried it today. It worked perfectly so I thought I would share here.
Oreida Easy Fries (the small microwave fries in a box) are on sale $1 ea. When you buy 4 you get a $3 catalina back. =4 boxes for $1. This cat is supposed to run until 10/17

First of all you are NOT an idiot as I suspect a lot of readers have no clue either but you were brave enough to ask..the term refers to a Catalina Promotion that keeps producing the same catalina over and over as long as you meet the terms of the promotion...Example:

you go buy 4 of the French fries..spend $4 and you get a CAT for $3 off on your next order (OYNO)...you could go back and do the same thing again and use the $3 CAT you got in the first transaction to help pay for the 2nd order..which is $1 OOP plus tax ($4 for 4 boxes of french fries-$3 CAT=$1.00)..get another $3 CAT and keep repeating...hope this makes sense!

I just did this deal but with issues.

The boxes are not marked(at my food lion) on sale. They are $1.29 so I took 1 box to the register with the rest of my order to see if it rang up at $1.
It did ring up for $1, so I tell the lady behind me to go ahead and I go back and get 3 more boxes.
I come back and ask the cashier if her coupon printer thing is working she says yes. So after she rings me up I give her the money and a coupon did not print out. So she calls the manager, manager takes me to costomer service - rerings my boxes a coupon prints out , she refunds me my money.

Somehow I got my money back and 2 $3 off coupons. I told her that I should have just gotten one. She said just take it . So that was good.

But why would the coupon not print out at the register? The cashier showed me that she had paper in the machine and the green light was on. weird.

I did this transaction four times today and it worked fine each time but one time the Catalina machine jammed up and my $3 off coupon was "eaten"...the manager took the coupon I had given them earlier to use on that order from my last transaction and put her initials on it stating I could use next time; despite already been used...

My store was out yesterday but today they were restocked......did the deal 3 times....my kids love this!

the catalina didn't print for me today! And the manager didn't do anything. I showed the coupon I had from Friday that said it ended 9/17 but since it didn't print they did nothing.

Yeah I called the Catalina company as soon as I got home! They said they would send it or call me if they had any questions.

I have completed this deal twice. The first time the catalina did not print but hubby threw away the reciept so I dont think I can recover the $3. The second time everything went through with no issues. The funny thing is I bought the fries for my kids but hubby is the one hooked on them... LOL! I guess I have to run out for more before the deal ends.

They are 3/3 and the catalina prints when u buy 4. So it makes them. 75 a piece before they were. 25 a piece
