Does the Florida Publix's accept walgreen RR's? They say manufacturers coupon on the top. Just curious!

I'd love to know this, too. We will be vacationing in Florida in January. It would be so great if I would be able to take some of my Walgreens RRs with me to use for groceries!

None of the ones I have ever gone to will take RRs or ECBs. I don't know what their official policy is.

My Publix never has a problem with them, its a little confusing so I always make sure to keep those products to the back so they don't have to look through the entire reciept. I would ask the store manager for their policy, because they will differ.

Grrr. Wrote a long answer and my internet cut out. The short version: I found out today that the Publix in Springhill, Fl. (County Line Rd and Mariner) WILL take them. Another store manger in Hudson called me yesterday in response to the letter I wrote corporate, and he also sounded amendable. His store is on Little Rd and US 52. I am so excited that I finally got up the nerve to ask and my Publix taking the rr. It will make things so much easier! |

mine does. sometimes the cashiers don't know and try to ring them up as competitor - just remind them that they scan in.

I did last night and today, both time I got NO from customer services and cashiers. Then I asked for a manager. Both time were different managers. The manager first said NO when the cashiers said it's Walgreen's coupon. Then I said it's a manufacture coupon with an address to get reimbrused. Also Publix will get 8 cents extra for handling the coupon. The managers read it and said if it is scanned we don't see why we can't take it. So now I got about 6 people who work there realize that RRs from Wag can be used there. I have about 3 x $10 RR left for now, I will sure use it soon. Thanks for all your help. Oh, 100 coupons x .08 = $8. A person in the backroom can handle thousands of coupons per hour. Publix is making a killing at 8 cents per coupon. No wonder they love you to use coupons or even double coupons. |

Not in Tampa, but Riverview, right off of 75. Summerfield Publix on the corner of 301 & Big Bend, they take RR and are USUALLY good about coupons. I've confirmed it with the store manager. |

I know the Publix in Winthrop Town Center in Riverview takes them too. I can't stand the Summerfield location, always a bad experience except for one cashier.

More and more stores are taking them. Every Publix, but one, has said "yes" when I've asked them. Even the one, ended up saying yes, but you could tell the manager had reservations and called to check with other stores (so I don't count him as a yes). The Winn Dixie stores in our area (Hernando county) will also take them. I think it's all in the approach. I usually go in and ask for the manager. Then I ask him if he could explain their coupon policy and what coupons they do and don't accept. Then I'll pull out some coupon i.e. MQ ones with a Target logo. They'll accept it because it's a MQ, with an expiration date, and a remit address. It does not say use ONLY at Target. Then I will ask about the Walgreens MQ (I don't say or use the words rr). They ,ay hesitate at first, but they will say yes. Now having said that, some managers choose to ring it up differently. Some will take it as a MQ and others prefer to just ring it as a competitor coupon so they don't have to mess with the clearing house. Course all I care about is them taking it! None of our stores have had limits. Some registers will beep if there's more coupons than items, so I will throw in bananas and separate them, so they scan/ring up one at a time. Also I think some stores (WD) have to get a manager override if the coupon is more than $6. Again, it's never been a problem. If you find a coupon friendly store, please write corporate. The local stores really appreciate the feedback. I did that recently and the manager of one store called thanking me and said they're going to use it as a training session. I had had a negative experience, then went back (another trip, another day) and the manager on duty was wonderful. I wrote a letter blah, blah giving specific examples (using her) as professional customer service. |
