So I went to my favorite Publix the other day, and noticed the bagger had a stack of coupon books. She said her manager told her the books are to go out to one person per day, and only if they ask for them. They have been keeping stacks at each register. Ah ha! So now at least I know why I could never find them. You can bet I will be asking about them from now on ![]() On a side note, I had a young cashier, who tried to tell me that he was expecting me to be on the honor system giving him the coupons for what I bought, because the register will not beep if he scans something that is not there! That seems crazy to me? Is that correct or is he just new (well, he is new or he would recognize me and know I am so OCD and paranoid about having the right coupons). |

Interesting about the coupon books. There is one Publix that always has them out on display and another that I only find them by the cashiers (like where they keep the paper bags), interesting. How are you supposed to know to ask for something that you don't know exists is beyond me! I don't know about what that cashier said. I'm a little OCD about it too since I don't want to have any problems. I do notice however that when I buy something at Winn Dixie using a WYB coupon (example 1 coupon that says "$1 off Waffles and then another that says $1 off Fruit when you buy a box of waffles), I always have problems and the register beeps. However at Publix it never beeps. Hmmmm.... strange. |

I think the publix system will scan a coupon without having scanned the item . I know this because one time the cashier had forgot one item on the belt but scanned the q and it went thru and them he scanned the item.

I THINK it will only beep when you have more qs than you have items for. Example of stacking MQ and a competitor. This happend to me a few times this week...

I would ask to speak to the manager and tell them to at least put them at customer service...at the checkout, it is too late!
