As I checked out today my cashier said "Oh, you're the coupon lady." As I proudly said Yes, (spoke too soon) she told me she heard how I had used all those BJ coupons and cashiers got in trouble for it and they were discussing if they would take them anymore because she got so much overage by using the coupons for large items on small items.

I told her it was not me as I had NEVER used BJ coupons at Publix. She said "Well, you're the one they blamed it on."

I again told her it wasn't me and to please let them know it wasn't me.She said she would let them know. So much for flying under the radar.

I guess that explains why the grocery manager who use to be very friendly and talk to me never talks to me anymore.

Guess next time I'm in and If I see the grocery mgr. I should say something, or should I just let this go.

I don't want to be known as someone who abuses the system.

This kinda ruined my day.

As per Mr. Griffin, (sp?) the store manager, the coupon policy at this store has changed, effective immediately. I didn't speak with him directly, however the person with whom he spoke was told by him that he plans to post the policy but even so, it will be enforced at checkout. He also told them to pass it along, that is how I found out, and I don't know many people in real life (LOL) so I thought I'd share it with you all this way...lol

1. NO MORE TARGET COUPONS! (Matters not if they are from the insert or

IPC)

2. THERE WILL BE A LIMIT OF SIX ITEMS TOTAL (THREE DEALS) ON ALL

BOGO'S--IT DOESN'T MATTER IF YOU ARE USING COUPONS OR NOT!

3. THE BOGO LIMIT APPLIES TO EACH ITEM TYPE, NOT EACH VARIETY (the example he gave was of the Kellogg's Cereal. It is six total boxes of cereal, not six Frosted Flakes, six Rice Krispies, etc.)

4. ALL NON BOGO ITEMS THAT ARE ON SALE WILL BE LIMITED TO 20 ITEMS.

5. THESE LIMITS ARE PER PERSON/PER VEHICLE/PER DAY!! (He said if two people come in the same car, then they can't get 12 items...it is still just 6!!!! <How stupid is that?!?!? I personally live in AL but shop here, and often have an extra body, who doesn't live in my house, it is a couponing friend who rides w/ me to save another vehicle/gas going to town!>

6. NO MORE INTERNET PRINTED COUPONS!! It doesn't matter if they are FLIP's, Manufacturer's, etc. His exact words were "if it comes off a computer" they will not be accepting them. <YIKES!!>

7. IN REGARDS TO "STACKING"--YOU CAN ONLY STACK A TOTAL OF 12 COUPONS--(ex.) if you had a Publix Q and a Manufacturer's Q--that counts as two towards your "stackables"--you could "double stack" six times. If you had a Kroger Q, a Publix Q, and a manufacturer's Q--this counts as three towards your "stackables" and you could "triple stack" four times...of course you could mix it up w/ doubles and triples, just make sure you don't go over 12 total stackable coupons!

Okay, so that is a lot of BAD NEWS!!! However, he did say that he wasn't sure how this was going to be received, and he will make adjustments as he sees fit. He gave an explanation as to the limits, but not as to the IPC's. His reasoning for the limits is because he said there is a "coupon club" (his words, not mine) that has the same people coming into the store several times per day, every day, and they have had too many complaints about not having products in stock (he says he has no control over ordering; it is all done by computer) and he has to find a way to work with the quantities he is given and keep as money customers as he can happy.

This manager seems nice enough--but he is trying to find a solution to a problem. He did say he has no problem with you coming back every single day to get your six items, he said just not more than once per day.

I personally think that if something doesn't appease to you and your particular situation, let him know. I know for me personally the IPC's are going to be an issue. I assume the reason he quit taking them all together is based on fraud. I plan to explain to him the several ways to spot a fake IPC and also explain to him that while many times there is indeed a two print limit, there are other ways to LEGALLY obtain these coupons--sometimes you can print them from multiple places (like coupons.com and then kraft.com) and then you can also print from more than one computer, trade with a friend, etc. There is always safety in numbers and it sounds like he is open to suggestions and this policy is moldable. If 75 people contact him about IPC's, another 75 about the PER VEHICLE limit, he may be open to changing these areas--pretty sure he isn't going to increase the number up from six though.

There is also a $1 MFG ar Kroger in front of the coffee, and they are offering a FREE plastic container with purchase of the bulk coffee (just not the little bitty one pot ones). Trying to figure which is the best deal.
