There is a site out there, I want to say connected to a university, that helps you determine if a sale of meat is really any good. You enter the cut and the price per pound and it tells you the true price per pound (minus fat and bones). Its a great tool for deciding if you're getting a better deal for rock bottom leg quarters or skinless boneless.

Does anyone happen to know where I can find this???

Not sure if this is the right spot to post this.

Im thinking of getting my son an MP3 player for Christmas. I know nothing about them. Do you have to pay to download songs online or are they free? If anyone knows of any good sites to download music it would be appreciated. Thanks

A few weeks ago I thought I saw something run across the floor in my peripheral vision. It was a mouse. Immediately sent dh to Home Depot to get traps. Caught 2 in 24h. A few days later a 3rd. Now for over 2 weeks nothing, until tonight. He ran in front of dh while we were watching tv. Rebaited the traps with peanut butter. 10 min ago he came up from basement and snap. I've never had mice before and live near corn fields. Help! Any suggestions? I vote for moving! We are using the Ortho traps that the floor lifts up and you never see it or touch it. Just throw it away. At about $4 each this is getting expensive quickly.

Can we have an exterminator do anything around the outside to deter them from coming in? How about those things you put in your plugs that emit a frequency? Do they work? Where do you buy these? Other suggestions? We are not getting a cat and I don't like the idea of pesticides inside.

Help please.

I see a lot of people here talking about it so I figure...this advice might help someone - especially the ones with children. I will try to make this a short story...my dd(12) never gets sick and has never had flu like symptoms...so one day back in August she got off the bus(I know my kid)! She didn't look as herself so I asked her, what's wrong? You look like you are dying!! She said, mom, I don't feel good my body hurts, I have pain on my throat and I think I have a fever...this was awful - she was fine the day before!! At the time she told all the symptoms I reacted quickly(Friday after 5 p.m.!)...called her pedi and explained - she directed me to the ER, b/c with symptoms like those the dr's are not able to diagnose whether it is the swine flu or not - they don't have the capability...sure enough with went to the ER...she was tested and came back positive for the swine flu...immediately she was put on tamiflu and antibiotics for her throat and motrin for the fever...never had a fever that high in her life. Tamiflu worked so fast I could not believe my eyes...she was feeling better with the first dose...which BTW had to be changed to the liquid form b/c she can't swallow pills. As a precaution all of us were put on it, except dh...he stayed at a friends house until the coast was clear. So my advice is that when your child or you feel those kind of symptoms...ACT FAST! If that virus is in your system for more than 24 hrs - that's when things get ugly and complicated...I was scared...thinking of all the crazy things I have seen on tv and how fast people die, but I am glad I acted and reacted quickly to this virus...take care, drink lots of fluids and try to keep the fever down..don't panic - that tamiflu works fast!! Thank you for reading!!

I first noticed it on a skirt in the closet but now that I'm looking for it, it's showing up in anything under the beds (slippers, photo albums, etc) and on the furniture!!! The back of the night stands were covered! DH is allergic to mold so he's been sneezing for a while now.

Any one have any ideas on what to do? I don't want to turn the heat on because its not that cold yet, but the air is so moist and the sun is not coming out soon. This is driving me crazy!

We have many needs in our church and outside of the church too. we give to pantry when we can. Since I don't have a huge stockpile like many of you it is tough at times.

before I go on , I want to thank all the people that prayed for me when my van's transmittion broke down over the summer and I was going to give a envy out but that person said she didn't need it at that time- so thank you all.

ok, with so many needs out there it is hard for me to say no to anyone. I found out after talking to a new friend of ours that she is the only one working now and her full time job is down to 4 days.

They are behind on all the bills and we have been there before.
Anyway I want to pack them a small box of food to help them out for a little while,
I was thinking about couple pks of burger, roast, frozen cake ( free bi-lo when they had the meal deal) couple pks of frozen vegs, oatmeal, can of sloppy joe , spag sauce, peanut butter, cheese crackers, rice , hotchoc.

I have not been to the store this week so, I still need to see what fl, bi-lo, ht have .

What do you give?

If this is in the wrong place, please move. I didn't see a spot for it when I did the search.
