So, for the past 2 days I have been in terrible pain...I am able to do things, but it's just painful and uncomfortable to do anything. I believe that the pain is a combination of a sleeping position and also the fact that I was working out with a ball and now my neck is very painful...I have been taking tylenol. The pain got better yesterday, but now I am back to square one. I also been using heat...but don't know what else to do...I would hate to go to the dr just for this...I know I had this not too long ago and it just went away by itself...about 5 yrs ago I was in a car(rollover) and went to the er - they took xrays and everything was fine. Dh told me this morning that I need to go to the dr to get antibiotics, as if this was an infection...I have never heard such a thing...he says that I need to go b/c the pain keeps coming back...does he know something I don't know?...that does not make sense to me at all...please help!!:nurse:

Lately I have had absolutely no energy. It does not matter what I do! I want to start working out again but all I can do is sleep! Seriously, I have been sleeping like a good 12 hours a day...almost every day! I don't know what to do!!

My hubby is getting mad at me cause I all I ever want to do is sleep! I don't have the worlds best schedule but I definitely get enough sleep.

I generally go to bed at 1-2ish, on school days I'll get up with ds at 7 and make him breakfast and get him off to school. I go back to sleep a little after 8 when he heads off to school. I'll sleep until dd gets up...which varies from 9-10:30...I'll get up with her, feed her and turn on cartoons for her...then I lay on the couch and usually fall back asleep for a little bit. Or if DH get's up with her I'll just sleep in...that can be anywhere from 11-1:30!!!

By the time 3-4 comes around I am dead *** tired again ALREADY!!!

This is miserable!! I can't hardly get anything done in a day! I'm not really eating unhealthy, I have cut back on drinking a lot trying to figure this out...I don't know what the crap is causing this!!

any ideas??? I have to figure something out! I just took a nap and got up like an hour ago...and I'm fricking tired again! UGH, I hate this! It's like something is just eating my energy =(

Ok, since about I was 10 I have had pain in my lower right abdomen. I went to the ER when I was little and they told me to add more fiber to my diet or else they would have to do some exams that would require them to enter through my rectal area, so I just ended up dealing with the pain and keeping my mouth shut.

I do have diarreaha at times, constipation and I do bleed when I go to the bathroom. this is not all the time. But I do have the pain in my side pretty much ALL the time. It has finally gotten so bad that I went to the doctor for about the 100th time and they gave me a prescription for bentyl. Well the pain got worse. Doc told me to stop taking it because she thinks I may just have chronic appendixictis.

I had a CT preformed and some blood work, well the CT was normal and the blood work was not. So now they think I have mono.

I know that even if I do have mono there is NO way I could have had it since I was 10.

I am getting to the point were I cannot function until the pain meds kick in, whcih does not completely take the pain away, it is effecting everything including my job and I have no idea what to do!!

Prevent Swine Flu - Good Advice

PREVENT H1N1 (Swine Flu)

The only portals of entry are the nostrils and mouth/throat. In a global epidemic of this nature, it's almost impossible to avoid coming into contact with H1N1 in spite of all precautions. Contact with H1N1 is not so much of a problem as proliferation is.

While you are still healthy and not showing any symptoms of H1N1 infection, in order to prevent proliferation, aggravation of symptoms and development of secondary infections, some very simple steps, not fully highlighted in most official communications, can be practiced (instead of focusing on how to stock N95 or Tamiflu):

1. Frequent hand-washing (well highlighted in all official communications).

2. "Hands-off-the-face" approach. Resist all temptations to touch any part of face (unless you want to eat, bathe or slap).

3. Gargle twice a day with warm salt water (use Listerine if you don't trust salt). H1N1 takes 2-3 days after initial infection in the throat/ nasal cavity to proliferate and show characteristic symptoms. Simple gargling prevents proliferation. In a way, gargling with salt water has the same effect on a healthy individual that Tamiflu has on an infected one.. Don't underestimate this simple, inexpensive and powerful preventative method.

4. Similar to 3 above, clean your nostrils at least once every day with warm salt water. Not everybody may be good at Jala Neti or Sutra Neti (very good Yoga asanas to clean nasal cavities), but blowing the nose hard once a day and swabbing both nostrils with cotton buds dipped in warm salt water is very effective in bringing down viral population.

5. Boost your natural immunity with foods that are rich in Vitamin C (Amla and other citrus fruits). If you have to supplement with Vitamin C tablets, make sure that it also has Zinc to boost absorption.

6. Drink as much of warm liquids (tea, coffee, etc) as you can. Drinking warm liquids has the same effect as gargling, but in the reverse direction. They wash off proliferating viruses from the throat into the stomach where they cannot survive, proliferate or do any harm.

This swine flu thing has me *really* afraid especially when I read about kids the same age as mine that died and had no underlying medical conditions.

My 6 year old started complaining Wednesday night of nausea and a headache and that he just "didnt feel good". He did not go to school this morning for same reason. He has a runny nose but no other respiratory symptoms-no cough. He's very lethargic

Then suddenly in the middle of the day today while I was working (I work from home) I started getting the same symptoms and actually had to call in sick for the rest of the day because my head was hurting so bad. When I went to pick my other three children up from school, me and my son were both very close to vomiting in the 3 mile drive to the school. I am aching all over, weak, and dizzy.

So I wonder should we go to the doctor, or should we just stay home and watch to see if it gets worse? If we do NOT have the flu I dont want to go into the doctor's office full of germs and end up catching it but if we do I dont want to just ignore it especially with it being almost the weekend.

He gets up between 8 and 10 times a night! He has been acting like he is in a fog lately and very confused and crabby with the family I know it is because he is so sleep deprived!
He did try a prescription about 3 years ago, but he had a bad reaction to it and won't try anything else! I am so frustrated!! I have to do all the driving if we go for more than about a 30 minute drive because I have caught him falling asleep at the wheel!!
Sorry for going off, but I have gotten to the end of my rope! Any suggestions?

Ok, long story- will try to make it brief.
I put on a lot of weight in a short time frame- like 23 pounds in 4-5 weeks. Until then I weighed 125, dieted and dropped to 119- then jumped up to 142. I was alarmed but went to the doctor thinking I might have underactive thyroid. I also have been suffering migraines for about 8 years. I have been VERY tired and have been sooo moody especially around my periods that i hate myself.
I went to the doc, they ran a bunch of tests and I was told I have Insulin Resistance (not happy about this as it is harder to lose weight). I am not at much higher risk for type II diabetes- my grandmother died at 66 due to complications from diabetes. THey put me on metformin and I had a reaction and can no longer take it. But had to go for more blood tests and was told over the phone "everything came back fine, watch diet and exercise to get a hold on IR and PCOS". I told her I did not have PCOS to which she said I did- well, that was the first I had heard of my being told I had it.
This was crushing. There is no cure. Symptoms can include weight gain, skin tags, dark coloring of the skin, and male patterened baldness. mood swings, etc. I am really upset. I can not sleep, I have had anxiety attacks. I feel like no one understands how this is affecting me- my hubby nor my family seem interested in what all of it means for me. I am angry. I am not very over weight, and have lost a few pounds. I am 5'2 and weigh now 135 pounds. I cry when I try on clothes as nothing fits me- I have alwyas had self body issues. I have always thought of purging after eating- even when I was thin by societies thoughts- but never did. Of course I think of it more now.....but haven't. I will seek out another doctor and hopefully have MORE PROFESSIONAL council. Any thoughts, prayers,a dn or advice from any of you, especially if you suffer from either one or both of these are appreciated. I know I am throwing out a lot of personal thoughts- I guess I have always been this way- but now I am just at a loss. THANK YOU! Feel free to PM me if you prefer!

I haven't eaten much yesterday or today... and when I do eat it just makes the nausea worse.... I am drinking plenty of water. I do have a headache but I don't know if that is from not drinking caffeine in almost two days or if its another symptom. Anybody who has dealt with this also?????
