I scored two tickets to tonight's premiere at 7:00 p.m.! I am SO excited that I can't even work. I even bought me and hubby Batman tee-shirts to wear tonight!!

Dd and her friends are going at Midnight tonight that's when our premiere is. She got tickets yesterday for everybody in her group. So sad about Heath Ledger...I bet this make this movie a even bigger box office draw, sadly.

I don't know ... I think his death won't be the draw. I actually think it's his role in the movie. I've been watching a ton of you tube and this is THE BOMB performance! I work in Chicago too so for me, the draw, besides the actual Batman movie - which we love, is that it was filmed here. When they were filming here, they were turning old buildings into Gotham Bank, etc. It was SO cool to see. I'll need to see the movie twice since tonight I'll probably be identifying all the buildings and streets I reckognize!!!

I really want to see the movie because the clips I have seen of the Joker are insane. If I had not KNOWN that was Heath Ledger, I would have NEVER in a million years guessed a voice like that and facial gestures like that could come from him. It really is like he was just possessed w /the joker. On the same token I really don't want to see the movie because it feels almost wrong to see something that may have sent a person over the edge and made a little girl lose her dad...kind of voyeuristic and twisted. One thing I do know is that my 4 y/o WILL NOT see it. It seems an adults only type thing.

I heard that it's a very dark movie and pretty violent in some scenes. Defenitely not appropriate for a 4 year old. I cannot tell you how excited I am for this movie. The papers here are saying that when Heath Ledger was in chicago, he'd visit popular spots and listen to the way people talk. He wanted to have that "chicago" accent. I live here and I have no idea what a chicago accent is so I'm very curious to hear him speak in this movie. Seriously, CANNOT WAIT UNTIL 7:00 P.M. TONIGHT!!!!! If you are interested in learning more about Batman (the psychology of Batman), the History Channel is doing an AWESOME biography. I think it airs again on 7/21 & on 7/22. We caught it last night and it was pretty neat.

DH and I are going tomorrow night. I can't wait. I will probably cry, though. I still hate to think about Heath Ledger not being able to do any more movies.

I scored a couple of free tickets for me and my son...probably go Friday afternoon. Ledger is another actor with promise gone too soon: James Dean, River Phoenix, etc.

Saw it last night and all I can say is OMG ... This is the best movie I've seen in my life. Everything was AMAZING and Heath's performance scored a standing ovation. It's pretty dark and sinister so if you have kids (on the younger side), maybe think twice. It's a must see though and we loved it so much, we are gonna go and see it again!!!!!

So what about 8 and 12 year olds? Do you think it would be to bad for the 8 YO DS? He really loves batman movies, but I wouldn't want to take him to something that is too awful. my DD would be ok I believe.

If it were me, I probably would see it first without your 8 year old. If you think it's not that bad, then take him to see it. You'll want to see it twice anyway. It is THAT good!

It was a great movie...less of a comic book movie and more of an action/thriller movie. It was an incredible last performance for Ledger.

I agree 100%. I thought his performance was AMAZING. I literally had goosebumps during some of his scenes. I can't wait to see it again!

I can't wait until it's on DVD. Definitely one to watch over and over. Heath Ledger was absolutely, amazingly, incredibly. I was near tears at the end, because he won't be making any more movies. And thinking about this being his last, and his little daughter Matilda... Just so sad.

This was definitely a once-in-a-lifetime performance. I spent a lot of the movie waiting for his next scene - he stole every one he was in.

I couldn't agree more. After every scene, I was already anticipating the next scene. I truly think his performance deserves an oscar. I swear, this is probably the best movie I've seen to date!!!!

I hope they never, ever try to make another Batman with Joker movie.... there is no way anyone else could measure up after this one.
