My partner absolutely loves Blu-Ray movies, but I really hate trying to pay the extra money for them. However, Best Buy is having a "Upgrade and Save" sale. If you trade in a regular DVD, you can get a $5 coupon towards any Blu-Ray, music, or TV series. Right now, they have these Blu-Ray movies marked down at $9.99: Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, Ice Age 1, Ice Age: The Meltdown, Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs. So, with coupon, they become $4.99. HOWEVER, it gets better! All of those above-mentioned DVDs come with $5 Movie Cash - for the Batman ones, it's to see the new The Dark Knight Rises movie, and for the Ice Age ones, it's to see the new Ice Age Continental Drift. So, you basically get the Blu-Ray FREE! So if you plan on seeing the movies in theaters anyway, it's a fantastic deal. (The Movie Cash stuff is really simple to do too; you just go to their website, put in your info, and it prints out a little coupon that you take to the box office.) (Other Blu-Rays and items are included in this sale as well, but they don't have as awesome of deal, so I'm not mentioning them. ) They have a website for it, but AFC won't let me post the link. It's "/upgradeandsave" after the domain name, though, if that helps. |

Hi One_kayla! Thanks for this information! When you bring a DVD in to trade, is it an automatic $5 or does it depend on the condition? Just want to see if they're going to be super picky (not that they are in bad shape!). Thanks! |

As far as I can *tell*, it appears to be a "take it/won't take it" situation where you either get to trade it in or don't get to trade it in at all. The CS guy took our DVDs out of the cases, looked them over for scratches, pulled off a cat hair on one of them (oops!), and then said they both were fine. So I think they're just looking for them to be average or above-average condition so that they'll play.
