I Loved this trip. On $5/$25 I usually focus on uping my candy stockpile!

My trip I got 28 items form $1.11!

I bought:

4 Fixodent = $2.75ea = $11
11 Packs of UP2U Gum = $1.30ea = $14.30
13 Packs of Wyler = $.10ea = $1.30
Total = $26.60
Minus:
$5/$25
(4) $3/1 Fixodent = $12
(10) $1/1 UP2U Gum = $10
SubTotal: -$.40
Tax = 1.51
Total OOP: $1.11 (My OOP was so much because The cashier said I only had 9 Gum so I went grabbed another one making me have 11 instead of 10) But still not bad!) I have Pics of my Haul and Candy Stock!

Don't forget to cut out the coupons on the Fixodent. It's $1/1 off adhesive and it never expires.

Great trip. I asked my store about using the $3/1 to buy the Fixodent and they said the register wouldn't take it. Did you have any problems with it?

They lied. It works just fine. I called corporate earlier in the week to make sure that overage would be applied to other items and they read off examples and they do. Overage can go to other items but it cannot be given back as cash.

WOW!! thats rock star!! how often do they do the 5/25 I did it one weekend because I happened to run into it but it was an amazing trip. I would love to put this on my list of to do's

It's usually every couple weeks but it's been every week for a bit.

there isnt any set schedule for when the $5/$25 coupons come out. There have been a lot lattly and I was told that its because of the holiday season but who knows. That was by my old store manager who was a crazy lier, LOL.

I've been keeping an eye on the $5/25 sales since September. They seemed to happen every 2-3 weeks in September & October, but starting in November there has been a $5/10 sale or a $10/30 sale every Saturday. The last 2 weeks & next Saturday have all been $5/25. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this sale because nothing is excluded except gift cards, cell phones & weird stuff I wouldn't buy there anyway! AND, best of all the $5 comes off before you use your manufacturer coupons, so you end up spending very little OOP if you plan it right. Be sure to check out the $1 aisle for great bargains. A lot of these things can be free or really really cheap with q's.
The $10/30 sale isn't quite as good because they limit the items you can use it on & it's mainly DG specific stuff like toys, clothes & home decor items that rarely have mfg q's. But, since their prices on these things are quite good anyway, the $10/30 sale can be a good one if you pair it with items that they also have on sale or clearance.

LOL, I just realized that I sound like a DG ad! Oh well, I love this store.

One of us always posts a topic about the coupon. There is one this Saturday. You can print the coupon off their website too. It will print twice per computer.

You can check the Dollar General site anytime during the week, go to the coupon center & print the coupon twice. I have found if you wait a day, it usually resets & lets you print it twice more if you need it. Otherwise, just go to another computer.

Also you may want to get friendly with the staff at DG. The cashiers will give me their receipts if I go in on a "scouting" trip so that I don't have to buy something to get one!

They print on the bottom of receipts and you can print them on their website.

Yes, you need to reach $25.00 then hand over the Dollar General $5/25 coupon, then all of your manufacturer coupons. Makes your out of pocket very low!
