I see on the front of the Dierbergs ad they are having their sale of you pick 5 meat/seafood packages for $19.99. I have not bought meat or seafood when they had this sale but a co-worker told me she always does and says she thinks its a good deal. I wondered what the sizes of the packages are since the ad does not state this and if others think this is a good deal?

From past experience the packages vary in size. Some deals are great, others not really a deal at all. Sorry I don't have a better answer for you.

Although, Johnny's in South County this week has pork tenderloin on sale for $1.99 lb. I stocked up on tenderloin so am passing up Dierberg's sale this week.

Does anyone know if Dierbergs takes the thursday shop and save coupon? I was going to buy meat anyway...I agree with jerilgm, some are a great deal, others not so much...

I got whole chickens on this $4 each, were over $8 at $1.59lb. Meat is so expensive here. Have one in the crockpot right now!! Smells so good. Yum!

The Mackenzie Pointe store just quit taking Shop n Save coupons last month. I don't know about the others.

My Southroads Dierbergs stopped taking competitor coupons too! I don't shop there much any more because of it.

Our quit in oct. I got alot of chicken, pork loin, and stew meat that is really lean. My crockpot will be going for weeks. I also went back late last night and got rainchecks for everything they were out of.

Perdue whole chickens, she put ANY and they are usually 5-8lbs. (one from each store)
stew meat,she put up to 2lbs., when sale ones were around 1 1/2lbs.
pork loin, she put up to 2lbs. when the sale ones were only a little over a pound.

all of them say 5/$19.99 and are good for 30 days. Meat is so expensive here and dh is not getting as much from work b/c their costs have gone up so much, so 20 packs of meat w/ the stew meat and pork being $2/lb. is pretty good for me. We are getting a new freezer (new to us from craigslist) and I want to stock up on meat. I already have a ton of freezer bags from k-mart doubles, so I will use those. So much cheaper than eating out 4+times a week.
