| anyone work for kohls or know someone who does
I am wondering what their take on the $10 off $10 coupons. I am under the impression that it is ok to use them, but only one per customer per day. I normally buy them from ebay but if its frowned upon or I could get in trouble for using them then I wouldnt buy them anymore. I have been wondering about this and wanted to just ask the cashiers their opinion but didnt want to just come out and ask. anyone know? tia |

Hi, I was told by a manager in Kohl's that the $10 coupons sold on Ebay are fake. Certain Kohl's stores will not take them. Obviously some Kohl's are still taking them because I still see them being sold on Ebay. If I were you, I would inquire first at the store. If you don't want to do this in person, just call the store and ask what their policy is in regard to the $10 coupons. Last edited by Inlovewithnight; 07-30-2012 at 04:17 PM. |

| I definitely have gotten them from ebay and not had them scan. The cashier then manually entered the #s and it wouldn't go through. She said if it was a good coupon, even if it didn't scan, it should have gone through when the #s were entered. I contacted the ebay person I bought from and they immediately refunded my money. They didn't comment or explain, just refunded. I'm not going to even try those anymore, the wasted time, frustration, disappointment, hassle, embarrassment, etc not worth it. The $10 ones that are good are the ones that look like a gc or the cardboard or peelie ones. There is never any problem with those. I think the sellers know that because those go for way more than the others, but at least you know they are legitimate. I will say though, that those $10 email ones used to be fine and work out great, but that has changed.....It was fantastic!

if they are sold in batch of 5 or 10 via pdf, BEWARE! they are the ones that are likely (99.999%) fake and it's best you stay away from them. I've read some people that were brave enough to redeem those $10 KC IPs on pdf were questioned by Kohl's management as to their source. if they are sold individually with direct links that you see came from Kohl's, then it means they're likely from emails sent to individuals. you can use them (with caution since they were not sent directly to you) and will likely not get questioned.

Well we saw these coupons all the time for a while. Alot of them did not scan or had a different amount come up than was shown on the coupon. The company sent a directive down not long ago about one per person ever(lifetime). We would see the same people come in all the time using the coupons. Never spending any money. Get very defensive an loud if the coupon did not work. A lot of times they would returning everything to a mass store credit. Found out one of the customers was selling the store credit online. One lady got a cashier to take $80 worth at one time. That cashier disappeared. But the customer still tries to do that. But the enforcement of the directive did not last long once a customer complained to HQ.(They stretched the truth apparently in the email to HQ) Since the customer word is taken over the word of a manager she gave up on trying to enforce the policy. Honestly we don't mind you working the system. We all like to save money. But don't get mad at the front line employees when the system changes. Cause honestly we are stuck in the middle. HQ tells us to do one thing that will make you mad, but says in the same breath go ahead an do it if they get mad. |

i just had trouble with these yesterday- igot one of the $10 off anything mailed items, ended up needing to return the kids pjs i got and coud not get a m/c. pgs were $14, they said they could only gve me a merch credit for $4, not $14. they said the$10 was a gift and couldn't be 'taken back'. I'll be more careful that i am 100% certain I will keep an ite I use this on. didn't sound good though.

My beef is this ~ why is everyone punished by Kohl's if there are a few who does legit returns? If they have to limit number of returns per customer per year, then go ahead. But why should they punish those who buy with NO intent of returning them to get merchandise credit BUT now they have legit reasons for returning item like it doesn't fit (I do not like fitting clothes but just buy them off the rack and fit them @ home because I know if they're too loose or too tight, I can bring them back w/o hassles). But now all these has changed all because they allowed massive abuse of their return policy Why are they sticking it to everyone instead of just a few who buy and return till they amass hundreds to thousands in merchandise credit?

OP. I thought you said that you were refunded.(from ebay seller).that, in my opinion would be the satisfaction I needed to throw them away. Since you got your money back....WHY? would you try to go ahead and use them..if they are fake it is ultimately your reputation that would be sullied. and since you were issued a refund you would have NO RECOURSE whatsoever if you were to be turned in for fraud. I would throw them babies away faster than you could say UHOH! |

I work at Kohl's and I am an avid couponer. With that being said, I believe it falls into coupon fraud. The coupons aren't emailed to you directly from Kohl's, therefore they are not legit. I am just afraid that with all the fraud that is going on, they will remove the $5/$10 coupons all together and that's not beneficial to the ones who do use them properly.

I just bought something on the 16th, and I used a $5 but I have to return it, it's not the right size. It says right on the receipt that "returns of merchandise purchases with Kohl's Cash Coupons (ie $5 and $10)...the value will be returned as a Kohl's Merch. Credit". Da da da. So i'm going to go return this today and see what happens. I don't think it's fair to take back KC that you earned if you return something. You earned it, it's yours.

Remy- I;d love to hear how this goes--I was told the coupons ( $5 and $10) were 'gifts' and different from Kohls cash and would not be returned.

Ok so I just got back from errands and this is what I have to report: On the 16th I bought two items, one was $20, the other was $2.79. I had a $5 coupon and $30 Kohls Cash. I paid $0. I went in to return the $2.79 item. Went up with my original receipt and the item to CS just like normal. return went fine, I actually ended up getting cash back because it was under a certain amount. So I would have expected that if the $5 wouldn't come back to me (or the KC at that matter) that I wouldn't have gotten back exactly what I "paid", since that's usually how they do it to prevent returning items and getting more than what they paid back. So i'm not sure about the ones that they send out it the mail, but with the e-mail coupon and the KC everything went just as it normally does.

Ok I have a question hopefully someone can answer. I bought my husband a pair of sneakers on Sunday, $65 including tax and got $10 Kohls Cash. After checking out I saw a 20% off coupon for this coming weekend, which also happens to be tax free weekend. If I take them back and buy this weekend it will save me about $20. I got Kohls Cash with this purchase, will they just invalidate it and give me my full refund that I paid or will they deduct $10 from my refund? Thanks!

The net result is the same: store credit for $10, although an actual credit doesn't expire and KC does. |

They changed their system as of a couple weeks ago. If you return an item (with the original receipt) that you earned Kohl's Cash on, the Kohl's Cash you earn will now be invalid. So, since you earned $10 in Kohl's Cash on the $65, and return the shoes to rebuy them and your total is now under $50 before taxes, your Kohl's Cash will no longer be valid and you will not earn anything on the new purchase. If you return the item AFTER you used the Kohl's Cash, they will deduct $10 of your return. So instead of getting the $65 you paid, you will now get $55 because you spent the KC. I have not done this yet, but this is what I was told by the cashier when I asked. HTH

Just an update- I took the shoes back yesterday and they actually gave me the option of a full refund making the KC invalid or keeping the KC and taking $10 off what they gave me back. Thanks!!

I can confirm the changes in return policy. They will NO longer give any of the KCs ($5, $10 emailed KCs or those $10 KCs earned from buying $50 or more on certain dates) as merchandise credit. Essentially, you lose the value of any of the KCs which are store coupons. They will just refund whatever balance is there after the %off and all KCs are taken off. I was also told that although they will allow an exchange, it has to be an EVEN exchange such that the pre tax amount of the item you're exchanging is EXACTLY the same as what you're now buying. You cannot buy an item that is lower or higher priced than the one you're returning. The CSR said the register won't allow them to do that (?!). Therefore, beware of clearanced items and make sure there's no issue with them or else you will lose the value of your KCs if used to pay for them. Apparently Kohl's realized they lost a lot of money due to returns made and KCs put on merchandise credit that don't expire. Since most people buy KCs for less than 50 cents each, we now lose $ when we return an item using any of those store Qs.

The cvs ones are real. They are sent as a link that is identical to the ones when they were offering $3 off $15 for sharing a pharmacy but yes they did pull them off ebay. I think the $10 kohls coupons are also being pulled. I never see them anymore but its no big deal. I rarely shop there so when I do the $5 off $5 are fine with me.
