I didn't even know that the $5 KC has individual links. My $10 coupons come in one downloadable link. I will ask my seller and get back with you.

Me too jmb - not a single seller has been able to send individual links so I don't believe they are legit. If I ever find one that does I will be sure to let you know.

What is bugging me is all the people saying theirs works, this was never the issue, it is a matter of whether they are LEGIT or not.

EXACTLY! I asked one seller then and he/she said the ones with individual links were more expensive and I said I don't mind. but he/she never sold any and said later, they were sold out(??!!)

when I checked pdf once sold to me, I got flagged on the balance inquiry page just for checking them so I had to ask for a refund.

Yes, it may work for others but that doesn't mean they are legit. With Kohl's very lenient policy and customer service, I am not surprised why they would take them. Those of us who are now aware how the authentic ones scan and show the 15 digit KC number as opposed to fake ones that just say $10 off on receipts can now make informed choices. JMO.

I didn't even know that they might not be legit. This is very informative thread. Now, I'm gonna have to be checking mine. I don't want to be giving fraud coupon. How do I know if they are authentic or not? Thanks for the help.

You can check the balance of a coupon here:

Balance Inquiry

In the "Kohl's Cash" box enter the numbers below the barcode and click check balance.

Legitimate coupon will give you the balance.

If you receive this message below, the coupon is invalid:

I have also been hearing that the invalid coupons do not work today.

THAAAANK YOU! I'm sounding like a broken record, but the fake ones work/scan. You'll know whether it's real or fake when you look at the receipt. If it says, "Total off offer," it's fake.

I got this email from a seller and wanted to share it.

Dear Friend,


I wonder if you guys are buying those $10 off $10 Kohls Coupons from ebay. If yes, I would like to warn you that, all $10 off coupons on ebay are fake. I'm revealing the secret of those fake coupons here:


1. The $10 coupons you got from ebay sellers are all in PDF format, right? Those sellers could never provide original kohls coupon links, because they didn't get real coupons from kohls. Instead they make those fake coupons by themselves.


2. You can check the coupon balance on kohls website, just type in the barcode number on kohls website page below (Use Kohls Cash field): Balance Inquiry

You will see the value of the coupon is not $10, sometime it will say the number is not in kohls record. You can check the balance of your $5 ones there too.


I bought some fake $10 coupons and found out that all barcodes are identical on the coupons. I used a free barcode Scanner App on my smartphone to read it. Those sellers are putting an universal barcode (which can cheat kohls checkout system) and expired/used $5 off barcode number together to make those fake coupons. In that way, you guys can make your own fake coupons to sell if you want.


So you may ask, doesn't kohls know that? Of course they knew. Someone works in Kohls Loss prevention Dept said, they're to going to take legal action against those fake coupons sellers (not sure for the coupon users). And Kohls is improving their checkout system to recognize those fake coupons.



You guys all know that I was selling $10 coupons for a while. I did get genuine $10 coupon from Kohls via email, but after Kohls changed their coupon system couple months ago, I couldn't get them any more. I know how to make fake coupons, but I'm just too honest to do that. Ebay took down those fake $10 coupon listing 2 weeks ago, but looks like the restriction had expired so those sellers are listing the fake coupon items crazily.


I don't care if you're buying $5 off coupons from me or not, I'm not selling them for living. I just want to warn everyone who's honest.

I am sure it is appreciated by those who are sincerely finding the truth about those $10 KCs on pdf, they can now make informed choices. For others, they will continue to do so as long as their store will take it or they have several stores to try it and see if they can find a cashier to take it whether they scan or not.

there's still a few posts I see online that claims they use it successfully BUT admit they scan as $10 off offer, not as KC followed by the code. Many are saying they'll use them as long as the cashier takes it from them regardless if they are questionable

I am so confused by this. My sister gave me a couple of $10 coupons that she bought off of ebay. I emailed Kohls customer service. Our back and forth was as follows:

Me: Hi, I was given several $10/10 coupons. How do I know if they are legitimate? Thanks!

We do send out $10 dollar coupons for different reasons. In order to help you further, I would appreciate it if you were able to send a screen shot of what coupons you did receive so I can help you further.

That's interesting! Quick question, were the $10 KCs sent individually by seller like the $5 KCs with individual links? if seller sold and sent them in separate links, they're likely coming from Kohls but those sold in batches of 5 or 10 don't come with Kohls links at all.

btw, can you share the ebay seller of these $10 KCs if she sells them via individual links instead of minimum 5 or 10 on pdf? TIA.

Actually sounds legit to me. Plus, the Kohl's CS rep. probably entered the #s in to check its authenticity.

I quit using the Kohls $10 when i realized they were fake and when when I did a balance inquiry (thanks joshmama!) and it came up as invalid.... Most of the $10 off on ebay if not all are fake coupons wherein the date has been modified as well as the number... this post says it all
