I went to 5 CVS today to do the Vive and Baby items deal. At the last CVS. I did 3 transactions because I had 3 things of wipes. On the third transaction, the manager told the cashier that he shouldn't accept the same coupons. The cashier told him it was a different transaction. The manager said, they are copies if they have so many of the same coupon. My cashier was awesome. He told him that it wouldn't scan if it was a copy and they all did. The manager mumbled and said, sometimes they do, mumbles under his breath and walks away. I am standing right there. I told the cashier that I did not copy any of the coupons and he assured me he knew and was very nice about it.

First off, I thought it was very rude for the manager to say that in front of me.

For a moment I was bracing myself for some problems but I had a great cashier!

My question for you guys, can you reassure me that the $2 off cvs skin care is not a copy, they came from the beautyhandbook site. Also, I would like to write to corporate about this cashier, he was awesome (i forgot to get his name though). Would that cause problems with him and the manager? I dunno.. just seem like the manager wasn't a very nice person. What do you think?

No, AFC policy states no PM'ing or asking for PM'ed coupons or emailed coupons that have to do with CVS coupons. CVS corporate has asked that we do not share those coupons. Sorry!

The coupon is one that was found in the reinventing beauty magazine that was sold at CVS. The people who print the magazine also have a website and placed the coupons on the website for a short time. That is how some received them. The others purchased the magazine or CVS had some inserts laying out on a table a while ago. HTH

i think it is a copy because nowhere on it does it have the address to send it to we had this same disussion about the sally hanson coupon

It doesn't have the addy on it correct...BUT....it was right from the beauty handbook website...it's a strange thing for sure!

If you got your q from the beauty handbook site, it says right there "Click on Coupons to Print" --- although unfortunately, they've been removed for some time now. I don't know where yours came from, but the original posting on the beauty handbook site certainly was meant to be printed. I bet many, many managers don't even know that website exists!

it was also taken down from the website so i don't know if i would use it or not my cvs is great about most things i would just hate time to start nit picking everything i bring in!

That's where and how I got my sally and skincare q's. I also find it strange that managers aren't aware of that website....

Oh well, I got it from the beauty handbook website too and I guess if they tell me I can't use it I'll just say ok since I don't think it's worth fighting this one.

Here is the way that I look at it. When CVS decided to advertise using the Beauty Handbook they should have known that part of the deal was that there would be an online version of the coupons when they joined up with them.

I actually sent an email Friday about this very situation. One of the stores I go to had a copy of the skincare coupon along with the original posted with the words highlighted that "CVS/pharmacy will not honor any facsimile, photocopy or any other reproduction of this coupon". I asked my cashier about it and she said they were copies and I tried to reason with her that they were available to print from the website. She said they would not take them. I emailed because I did print a couple of these from the website when they had them up and have not used them yet. I have not received a response about this yet.

Well, I think I am the one that started the whole thing about the address missing off of the Sally Hansen coupon, which is to me a concern since it is a manufacturer's coupon. The concern that I have w/ the skincare coupon (the so-called 'printable' version) is that it does have the wording: 'CVS/pharmacy will not honor any facsimile, photocopy or any other reproduction of this coupon.' No, you're not putting it in a scanner or a copier, but being able to 'print' unlimited quantities off the internet to me falls under the 'any other reproduction' category. Why would the coupon have wording on it concerning reproduction if they intended for you to be able to print off as many copies as you want? It also lacks the 'all images may not print in your browser.... just print the coupon in black and white or color and bring to the store.....' wording that appears on CVS coupons that are *meant* to be printable. So once my stash of the hard-copy coupons from the booklets is gone, it's gone. Just my $0.02.

Yes, but even the original Sally Hansen coupon or the other "manufacturer coupons" out of the hard-copy books did not have a remit to address on them, even on the back side of the coupon which you could not print from the website. So I don't think that printing them from the website is any different from the originals in that aspect. Just my $0.02!

CVS knows that these coupons are out there. They know that these coupons are being printed from the internet. Alot of us who post here have used them for several weeks. I am also sure there are ALOT of people who don't post here who are using them too. If CVS did not want these coupons to be used, they would simply send out an urgent email to all store managers not to accept paper copies of this coupon. They would attach a picture of it to the email so the managers could SHOW the cashiers, post a copy by the registers that says "This coupon is no longer being accepted", and make the coupon beep when it is used. None of these things are happening. It goes through everytime. Even the store mangers are ringing up transactions with these coupons.

The responsibility for determining which coupons to accept lies with the CVS corporation and the individual stores, it does not lie with us. If CVS were losing money, they would have pulled these weeks ago.

Just wanted to update that I finally received a response to my original email questioning whether the ones printed directly from the site were okay to use. This is the response I got today:

Dear Ms. xxxxx,

Thank you for contacting the CVS/pharmacy website. We are in receipt of your e-mail regarding the Beauty Handbook coupons.

Please accept my sincerest apology however the coupons that were posted online were posted without our permission. We only offered these coupons in the actual book, the coupons online we considered to be copies or facsimiles and therefore we will not honor these coupons. As soon as we learned these coupons were posted online we asked Beauty Handbook to remove them.

We appreciate the time you have taken to share your comments with us. Thank you for shopping with CVS/pharmacy, we look forward to your continued patronage.

So after receiving this response, I won't be using any more of the coupons I had printed. I do agree with the PP that mentioned that if CVS does not want the printed ones to be used, they need to send an email out to all their stores stating this. However, they would not be able to make the printed coupons beep on the register because then the originals would beep as well since they have the same barcode.

Have you ever noticed that you can ask two experts in an area about one topic and they both give you two totally different answers? Well, it happens at CVS corp also. I have seen the same question asked and two totally different answers come back.

So please do what you feel is correct, but let's get on with the deals.

We do not post these coupons on AFC, nor do we allow the talk of asking for the coupon either because it is not on the website anymore. If you didn't print it off when it was up, then you are kinda out of luck.
