My family went in last night to do some shopping. I have one Target in our smaller town so apparently they "know" me by now or something. I go to check out and am friendly with the cashier that is familiar with me. A supervisor comes up behind me (no one else is in line) and is eyeing all of my items and whenever I look over at her she pretends to straighten some gum. Nice. Won't let me use the TQ and MQ on the Colgate with 2 trial packs because they say I'm not supposed to get that much toothpaste for .21 cents. I went on about how I'd emailed corporate from the last time they tried to stop me from using my $5 off 3's and I'd gotten an email saying I could combine TQs and MQs on one item. The said I was not getting the correct item so I just let that go. GRRRR. Then, I have 2 J&J baby shampoos and 1 Buddy Bar and with one $5 off 3 TQ and 3 $1 off J&J item q's. They said they'd take the Target Q this time but that I couldn't use the J&J q's because it was like I was taking money from Target. I told them I was actually getting the items for a better price and having J&J reimburse the store for the $3 in J&J q's. I told her that I want to use q's correctly and am meticulous about getting the exact items on the q's, but I don't want to feel like I'm being watched like a hawk in the store as if I'm trying to steal items. How is it supposed to work if you have a TQ and MQ for the same item but there's an overage? Does the computer beep and not let it work? Thanks for all of your help! Lindsay |

If there is overage then the register beeps. My cashiers just push it through. Technically if there is an overage they are to adjust so you just get the item free instead of an overage. (although I have no bad experiences as yet... knock on wood).

Target does not care about the customer. I hate target. They make you feel they are doing you a favor to let you shop there. Of course I still do, hold my breath, and hope I get someone who knows how to read a coupon. Sally

with regard to the overage from the 5/3: per their coupon policy, if the coupon amount exceeds the item's purchase price, they coupon is supposed to be adjusted down. you still get the item for free, you just don't make any $$ on it (no overage). I don't know the exact prices of the items you bought, but let's say the buddy bar was $1 and the shampoos are $2 each. After applying the mfr q's ($1 each), the Target coupon would be adjusted down to $2 to cover the remaining balance. This is hypothetical, of course, since I don't know the prices for this stuff. If the total exceeded $8, they really shouldn't have had a problem but I'm guessing it didn't? Personally, I would have just used the mfr or just the Target coupon if your total didn't meet/exceed the coupon amount. I know a lot of people are using these coupons for the overage (NOT calling anyone out) but these are just too great of coupons to do that with IMO. I have gotten J&J, bandaids, neosporin, pads, liners all for a few cents with this coupon combined with mfr coupons - I don't wanna waste them just because I *might* get overage. JMO, of course. |

oh and the Colgate thing was ridiculous. What to they care how much you pay OOP? They get their $$ back from the mfr, duh!
