I buy juice boxes a lot in the summer time (freeze them!) ... I would have had NO clue that they would have rung up at 69 cents (until I read here on AFC) ... I still have yet to find them but I will continue looking and if I see them, I will BUY them, not STEAL them. |

like i said, target can't control ALL their employees steps in the stocking process ... but WE can control what we do. we pride ourselves in being 'honest' couponers, and want respect...and not to be treated as if we are below others....but yet we do things that are not so honest.[/quote] This is the stuff that makes me feel very uncomfortable with this site in general. I don't want to second guess everything I do and wonder if someone is going to consider my actions as stealing. While at Target last Friday my son picked out a bunch of items in the 75% off dollar spot shelf. None of it rang up right. None of it. There must have been 5-7 things that all rang up at a dollar instead of .25. I watch them scan everything because this has happened before. If I didn't pay attention, like some others don't, I wouldn't have known and I would have left it. It works both ways. They are not always honest either. Furthermore, there are some of us who are not treated with respect whether we buy the juice boxes or not. Can we PLEASE stop referring to this kind of issue as stealing. I would never go into a store and take something without paying for it. NEVER. I would also guess that if we are taking the time to put "deals" together with all the coupons we acquire and the advice we share that others are not as well. |

Maybe this point was already made and I missed it, but while I understand that some have an ethical issue with finding these mis-stocked juice boxes, how can you blame them? I was looking for them this week, not knowing that they were meant for sale individually in the snack bar. I had no idea how people were finding this deal, or why it was ringing up so low. Of course, I never saw any at mine. My feeling is this, if the couponers don't buy them and leave them on the shelf, someone else is going to pick them up and get a pleasant surprise discount. Why shouldn't the couponers look for them? So if a couponer sees them, should they mention it to a cashier who likely won't pass on the info, and leave the deal for an unknowing beneficiary? Or should they wait around 10 or 15 minutes to speak to a manager to alert them? I don't know about anyone else, but my shopping trips take too long to waste time alerting them to some mistake their stockers routinely make.

Because you should point out the error to the store manager and not just leave them on the shelf. I will continue to look for them and take them to the food court so Target doesn't lose money on them. I get enough good deals there that I don't need to buy things unethically.

you worry about Target losing money? my goodness, don't worry about their bottom line, believe me they cushion themselves from errors like these. I have too much else to worry about, including my own bottom line!

I read this whole thread to my husband, who has been in the grocery business for 29 years. He wanted me to clarify that on groceries, Wal-Mart and Target are making pennies, if anything, on most regular priced items. They make their money from the other parts of the store. The department store side's profits absorb the loss from the grocery store side. Soda, for instance....loss leader...they are losing money, but it's worth it to the store to get you in there. Here is my plan now that I know about the juice boxes. If I find some, I will take the juice boxes to the front and tell cust service / manager about it. I will also tell them what I plan to do. The next time I'm in the store, I will check to see if the juice boxes are there. If I find some, I am buying them. I will have done my part to alert the store, and then I will openly buy them from that point forward. I may even mention it each time to the cashier, but I'm buying them. Someone is going to buy them if they are stocked with the other juice boxes, why not me? After I try to fix the problem, I'm buying them. That's that. |

It is Target's policy that if something is mispriced, they honor that price. I buy the juice boxes. |

i worked at target as a manager for 2 1/2 years. one day while walking back up to my work station (starbucks) i noticed 100.00 electric razors for "9.99" i hurried and told the store manager who was working that day. the price was never changed and needless to say the 2 razors that were on the shelve for 9.99 someone bought a couple days later. we had to give it to them for that price. it was our fault at target for putting 100.00 razors in place of the 9.99 ones. also target knows about the 10 packs. everyone got a email about the 10 packs being missplaced and being sold for .69. trust me target knows.
