x/xx refers to coupons that CVS gives out (usually in email, and sometimes found in stores) for a certain dollar amount off of a certain dollar amount purchased - like $5 off of a $30 purchase, or 5/30 as we write it here to save time.

But I always calculate my shopping trip before I leave the house...I add up my potential purchases, subtract manu q's then put together the ecb's that will get me the lowest oop total.

Just b/c if you have some extra time on your hands, you can specifically work to plan out your transactions that way to get your oop lower.
