| Cashier logi?
on BOGO deals each product is priced at 50% so you may use a Man Q on each product I know this is stated in the Publix FAQ....but as we all know....dealing with actual cashiers is a different story. I had a problem like this acouple years ago with a young male cashier. Someone stated the other day on a different forum at AFC to STAY AWAY from this age/type. They want to do anythinhg to make themselves "look good" to management to "show" someone that they are management material! Well, I hate to say it, but it crosses over gender lines! The other evening I was in line and a young girl (not a teenager) came up and said she could take me at a different register. I did not pay too much attention to her. My husband was in the car, as I had to pick him up at work because his car is in the shop...so I was tryihng to hurry. This was my thrid trip to Publix to find some of their sale items...as they had been out of stock...and STILL were on some things, so I was not in a good mood by the time I hit the register! I had the $5 off $30 that was mailed to me, so I wanted to use it and this was the last day. Anyway, right away I should have known there was going to be a problem because RIGHT AWAY she said, do you have any coupons? I gave her the Publix $5 on $30 just incase she was going to be one of those types to want to take all my Q off before crediting me for this. She took it and then waited while I put my groceries on the belt and looked at me....as I was holding a fist full of other Q. I gave them to her and she rang a few items and then SCRUTINIZED my Q. I had bought 6 Lysol Spray that they had on BOGO sale and I had 3 - BOGO Q. She said.,...well, I can ONLY take 1 of these...and I was "And why would that be?" She said, well, these are already BOGO free....so I cannot let you have another one free! I said "It shouldn't matter to you" (Since ovbiously they are getting reimbursed from Lysol for 1) and she said "Well, it does and I cannot allow it!" I should have asked to speak with the manager but I was in NO mood. I looked at what else I had on the belt - also BOGO things but with just Q $1 off, etc and figured that she was going to complain about those too....so I said "How about if you just give them back to me!" She handed me the Q and I said "How about the Publix one?" which she had in a different pile. She must have thought, OH good, that settles that as she started ringing up my groceries. Can you believe that? I said "Well, I will just take my business somewhere else!" and left. Her mouth hung open, as did the bag boy who already had 1 bagful in my cart! And I left! I was just in no mood to go thru the whole Q lesson with cashier, manager and anyone else! Just venting!! |

I think it's in the air, because me and a few friends have all had this kind of experience this week! I must say...it's the teenagers and the older ladies that are the best! |

You should call & speak to the manager. Soemitmes it helps, sometimes not. I go out of my way to shop at a different Publix then the one closer to my house as I don't get any crap for using Qs! I ave told them multiple times that the other Publix gives me a hard time about Qs. They are appalled each & everytime. I even asked once to speak to the mgr at the annoying Publix & he sent over a cust svc rep. I never did call corp, but shoudl ahve as I ave had multiple bad experiences there. Mainly w/ competitot Qs. BTW, I ahve mnay issues w/ the grandma types or older women at the one Publix. They get annoyed because I abck up the register when I use my Qs. The 2 cust svc mgrs at my fav Publix know me & alays make a point to say whether I need them or not. The other day the guy at te deafood counter even asked where my helpers were when I didn't have my kids! That is how it should be!

| Publix manager came to my front door!
I know how frustrating and sometimes humiliatimg rejection can be. I recently experienced a rejection at the cashier and with cust serv. rep when I printed a coupon from publix.com for 5 off 35. They told me is was a fake coupon and insinuated I was a fraud! I went back on their website, found the coupon (it was from another state - that was the problen) and sent and email regarding a customer concern to corporate. Two days later the manager of the store rang my doorbell and issued me a $5 gift card with an apology. He got my address from the email I had sent. Now that's customer service! They will go the distance if you speak to the manager.
