My whole family (parents, sibs, kids) is going on vacation to the land of Food Lion. How can I prepare to get good deals for the house? I don't know anything about "how to do" Food Lion.

Right before you go on vacation, make sure you check these boards so you can find out the deals for that week you are going to be there. The weekly flyer runs from Wed morning to Tuesday night so if you arrive and want to stock up when you get there on the weekend, we can help you out with the deals during that week. I would start looking for coupons for things you normally buy and would want while on vacation. Check the expiration to make sure that it does not expire before you go. Right before you leave, go to the food lion generator and print out which coupons you want while you are on vacation, again check for expiration dates. The generator can be found from the home page on the left hand side. I am sure there are other ways to get to it, that is just the way I find my way there! Hope that helps some! Food Lion is pretty easy. They don't double coupons, but you can use a Food Lion printable Q with a manuf. Q. Their prices are pretty good. I agree with the PP about checking their online flyer for deals. Have a great vacation!

Also, there is a limit of 1 FLIP per item per transaction. Most FL's follow this rule, but most do not have a prob with multiple transactions. If you are visiting family & have access to a computer, that would be great. New FLIP's come out each Wed. You can sign up for the FL shoppers companion newsletter on the FL website. They will email them directly to you. Sometimes it takes a day to get them on the generator, so we usually try to post links in the FL forum. And remember to get all the good peelies, blinkies & tearpads you can! Different FL's often have different ones! (you can always get enough to share )

Using a FLIP and manu. coupon together is YMWV (did I do that right?) I have never had a problem using both until yesterday and two stores they won't let me use the Digorno FLIP and a manu. I was so mad but then I checked the policy and these FLIP does say that you can not combine so try it out but don't count on it.

If you are visiting NC or VA we have Harris Teeters too that will DOUBLE coupons!!!

Hmmm, small world. We were just there picking up a camper this past weekend. When we were in Deleware, I also noticed a couple of "Giant" grocery stores. I'm not familiar with those, but you could always check it out!
