| HUGE drama @ Kroger- look for heelies ban
Ok, the meat manager at our Kroger is a chatty older man who may or may not be sane. He has told me he is translating now for the pentagon (he is retired military and is Middle Eastern originally) which is kind of out there, but he has also told me I am the best, most patient mother who comes in the store and my children are the most behaved children ever- so he isn't TOTALLY crazy Anyway, he told me last night that my oldest is always so sweet and I would not believe how some mothers let their kids run crazy. He pointed to a pyramid of ecco domani wine bottles and told me that this week a mom let her kid wear heelies in the store and the son ran into the wine display, toppling tons of wine bottles on another woman. Kroger charged the kids mom $600 in wine that was broken and they had to call an ambulance on the woman who was crushed under the wine bottles. Someone has some info to suggest she is suing someone...Kroger or the parents I am not sure.SO...I am glad heelies will be out of the store I always thought they were danger and I am tired of seeing kids bump into MY kids while wearing them. It sucks this happened to that lady, though. Word to the wise...if you don't want to pay for $600 of wine, don't let your kid wear heelies in stores!!!

I hate those stupid Heelies shoes, and I am so tired of seeing children zip around stores with them. Roller skates should only be worn indoors at a roller-rink!

First of all why didn't the mother say something?!?!?! I mean it is the mother's responiabilty to put rules on those kind of shoes. Yea,I'm sure they're hot and they're so cooool ...but the mother should have put some limitation to those things. Only outside kind of thing. Luckily there was no children involved other than the one wearing the heelies. I do hope both parties were not hurt. |

It is most definitely the parents' responsibilty to make sure that children are using those shoes appropriately, or they should not be worn at all. There will be no Heelies in my house! I'll go with some good, old-fashioned roller skates.

My cousin's pediatrician told my aunt that they should never buy my cousin 2 things...Heelies and Razor scooters. He has seen too many broken bones from each.

I used to be a sales rep at Costco (for one of their kiosks). My kiosk was located in the area near the food court on the way to the exit. Kids used to leave the food court going to the door at a break neck speed with those dang shoes and their parents did NOTHING. I wanted to just pull them by their ears (both the parents and the kids) and tell them just how much damage they could do by not being careful. My 3 oldest want a pair. I told them they have to be 9 before I will even consider it. We still have 2 years with the oldest. Maybe they'll stop being made by then! |

They are already banned from a lot of stores around here. I am NOT a fan of them.

I can't stand those shoes. As for the mother, hopefully this is a lesson to her. I am tired of kids running wild and their parents ignoring them. It seems to me that if you are going to become a parent, the least you can do is to care for your kids. I know when I go out, some of the things I see parents do or say to their kids is terrible.

They are banned in most stores here and at the school where I used to work. Until they were banned though, kids would come rolling down the hall in school and it would drive me nuts! I just don't like those things!!!

My oldest has a pair but he can only use them in the driveway and at my moms (huge open basement) Otherwise the wheels come out. I would ever allow them at a store or school thats just asking for trouble. I saw a kid take a face dive at walmart and that scared the crap out of skylar so he doesn't want to use them at the store.

I am totally on the store's side. However, a wine bottle pyramid?? Really?? Sounds like an accident waiting to happen. I mean, every once in a while, I run into something with my cart by accident.

You know, Im glad this post came up... It makes me remember being in WalMart and kids zipping by on them hitting me and my cart a million times. My first thought was to throw out a fistfull of marbles.. I know terrible thought! I wish that lady a speedy recovery and hope that Mother learned her lesson! |

I simply can not stand the kids or the parents! Come on now, if you allow your children to act like animals in public then how do they act at home? I will say something to both of them when they act a fool in front of me. Running up and down the isles. Screaming! Please! I only go to the grocery store early sunday mornings. Lot less chance of running into them. And the nerve of some to act like I'm in there way looking thru my Q's when there nasty little kids are climbing all over the place. If you would handle your children then you won't need to be in such a hurry to get out. So deal with it!!

Most stores around here have large signs when entering that have banned for several months. They are not allowed at any of our schools. Our priest has even asked that they not be worn to church. Some of the kids were wearing them in the fellowship hall and scratching up the newly polished floors.
