I'm sorry but I have read, and re-read the OP and still can't find it in my heart to hit the thanks button. Yes, maybe the OP did mean well but the wording was just wrong to some of us.... I can't get past the first line of Be careful.... I try to follow the couponing rules for each store...never hand in more than 5 coupons at Target - ask Customer Service if I'm unsure about a coupon, etc. etc. -, never "stack" and most importantly, I DO NOT accept e-mailed coupons from ANYONE other than manufacturer websites. So asking me how I "would feel" if a cashier lost their job due to MY couponing is really not fair. If they did lose their job due to MY coupon "spree" - it would be terrible - because I don't believe they would have been doing anything wrong. KM, I agree, one post does NOT make a bad poster.....but this really does "appear" to be a hit and run despite the sign up date - I feel a lurker. Just my 2 cents. Please delete my post if it has added more fuel. Not my intent. Just want the OP (if out there) to better understand what AFC believes in.

AFC is definitely one of the most honest couponing boards around. The mods work diligently to keep the posts on the ethical and legal side of couponing. I wish more boards were like this one. Unfortunately, that's not the case. It seems like there are those who think that abusing the coupon system is the way to make $$. When coupons are copied, altered, knowingly used for the wrong product, knowingly used past their expiration at stores that don't accept expired coupons, or likewise misused, it hurts us all in the long run. Stores start imposing strict coupon policies that make it nearly impossible to redeem more than a few coupons per shopping trip. New "rules" appear each week and each cashier has their own interpretation. We're already seeing widespread effects of this at Target and Walgreens. Other stores won't be far behind. I actually appreciate it when a cashier takes the time to match my coupons to the products I've bought. It gives me a chance to let the cashier know that I'm an honest couponer and perhaps share any extra coupons I may have. I rarely leave Target without sharing Target coupons with the cashiers. The cashiers now look forward to me coming through their lines even though I might have a stack of coupons. I make sure each coupon is matched with the right item as it scanned and if there's a matching Target coupon that's paired with it I put the two together. The cashiers see how much I save and then know they'll be on their way to be able to do the same with the coupons I leave them. It's definitely a win/win situation. |

Hello, I to work for Target for over 16 years. I know nothing about over use of the accept coupon key. And don't forget about the coupons that are current and don't scan, and there are quite a few of them. And we do have to accept them by using the accept coupon key. Remember , just because it does not scan mean that the coupon is no good !!!

Almost most of my Target coupons that won't scan are Target coupon generator coupons.

I'm not sure how AFC capture target coupon images onto their site, but the coupon barcode on AFC is not as crisp compare to those directly printed from target.com. Depends on the printer you have, sometimes the printed outcome is so blurry that it wont scan. Although i have a few encounters where my coupon was rejected because the barcode was too blurry to scan and cashier insist it's photocopied; most of the time coupons printed from AFC works just fine. if I have trouble with a particular one, the best way is to print it directly from target.com |

What concerns me most about the OP, is that she's a cash office specialist and unaware that you can use more than one coupon at a time. It's a classic example of a Target employee not knowing their own corporate coupon policy. Other than that, I agree that there are fraudulent coupons (and couponers) out there but I don't think any of them hang around this site. Would I feel bad if a cashier got fired for accepting coupons? Sure I would - for the cashier because more than likely they weren't trained on corporate policies sufficiently. We can print Target coupons out right at their own kiosks and the registers beep. How in the world is a cashier supposed to know which ones are good or fraudulent when that continually happens? They really need to clean up their own store coupon mess and train their employees on coupon usage better, IMO.

what gets me is that if target actually found out who the op is they can be fired because it states that as a target employee you can not make statements like that on any board.... I will look it up again and get the exact wording and post it later.

I so agree with you. I was in there the other day and had a few Target printed coupons and none of them scanned. The cashier did override them so that they would go through. |

I spoke with a Target Corp person and was informed by them that Target stores can refuse a coupon and or formula check or make the customer seperate purchases for more that 1 same item/coupon per offer. It is up to the store manager to decide to enforce that. He then said call your local Target and ask to speak to the store manager and find out what his/her policy is. I then told him that is BULLSH!T they should have an across the board policy not a fair weather policy and if they want to refuse their own coupons because they do not scan EVEN FROM THE KIOSK then they might as well do away with accepting ANY coupons. I feel that is frauding the public to refuse them after we have came into purchase. I called my loocal store manager and found out what his policy is and he then told me to speak with the up front executive and I did needless to say my store DOES NOT REFUSE my coupons. I name drop and if there is a problem the cashier and or head cashier already know that I KNOW THEIR POLICY! I just went 2 times this week and used 200dollars in coupons and only spent less than $50. I feel for all you that have issues with your stores!

What bothers me the most on this thread is the OP hasn't been back to respond, thank, or update. So am I to assume that I should waste my time to ask questions, post my thoughts, watch the thread that I am participating in, and they don't have the decency to do it themselves? Nor have they participated in any other thread on any other topic? JMO Lynda |

I can understand someone having a low number of posts. Maybe they are shy or someone else usually says what they want to say. But I agree with PP. If the OP is really as upset about the issue as they claim, they have had plenty of time to log on and explain their position and answer any questions that have come up. I think this is very fishy. P.S. What is a troll?

| "Troll" is a term used to describe someone who's only interest is to stir up trouble on message boards. Usually they post something controversial/upsetting and then watch the drama unfold. Usually they have a low number of posts and don't come back very often. Not saying that OP is one....just explaining the term!

If I am at Target, and I use a coupon that I get from here off the generator and am asked where I got the coupon, what do I say? I've never had it happen, but I saw it happen to someone at walmart once. I mean, can I say I got it from a generator? Do I have to say where it came from?

| The CURRENT ones can be printed from the registry machine. Go to Target's website and there's a button at the bottom for coupons. All of the ones in ther generator aren't there though. New ones come out every other week and replace the older ones, even though those older ones may not be expired yet.

Stating you work at Target and posting here is grounds for termination. Even if you think you are justified in what you have to say you can not be actively employed by Target and post.
