| Graco car seat
I have a co-worker who is pregnant and she just bought the Graco french roast car seat for her soon to be bundle of joy. She was very excited about it until today at church another mother had the same car seat and said she hated it. She said that they did not fit in booths in restraunts, and it was very difficult to put in the car. Is there anyone out there that has had this same experience or that can suggest another car seat that they love? Please help!

I have an older model Graco. I have found that it all depends on the restaurant whether or not it fits in the booth. I think this is a common complaint of parents w/ infants--there isn't a good place to put them in restaurants and Lord forbid you have to use the bathroom while you are out alone with an infant. There is no where to put them in the bathroom either.

I used a Graco SnugRide infant seat and it was great. I'm not sure about the SafeSeat, but they can't be that much different, I wouldn't think.

I have that exact car seat!! The Graco Safeseat in French Roast. I love it! It doesn't fit well in restaurant booths, but that's common to all car seats. They have these nets to put the car seats in, and they work great. As long as you have the car seat base, it is very easy getting the car seat in and out of the car. It just snaps in and out of the base. It has a heigher weight and height limit, so you can use it for longer. I don't really have any complaints about it. I've been using it for over 8months now, and I still love it. And as an added bonus it's really cute!!!

We started with a Snugride and DS outgrew it at 5 months. We bought a SafeSeat and should have started with that like we intended. It is a little bulkier than others but with the larger weight and height limits it's well worth not having to buy another one later on. I would suggest your friend keep it and put it on a highchair if they have to sit at booths in restaurants Oh, and it was very easy to get in and out of the car (actually I have a truck and it was fine) and also is compatible with the Graco strollers and worked well on those.

i really wish we would have got the graco one that goes to 30 lbs or the chico one that goes to 30 lbs. Ty was about 6 months when he outgrew the one the goes to 22 lbs, let me tell ya 22 lbs is heavy to hold in your arms when you also have a 2 yr old to rangle. Its a lot easier to hold a 25 lb baby in a car seat than in your arm. It would have also saved money to get the 30 lb one, cause you still have to place them rear facing until they are 22lbs and ONE year old, so you still need to buy another car seat when you reach that point and of course the carseats that go from rear to front are more expensive than those that are just forward facing. Which they are making better and better, cause my 2 yr is an escape artist and still needs the 5 point buckle on the car seat. we have the French Roast double stroller and i love it with a passion. I love the colors, design, features and best of all that thing turns on a D I M E. It fold more compact that most double strollers and even weighs less, even thoug it still weighs alot. Pushing mine with both boys in it, is about 90 pounds, but dosen't feel like it at all |

We have the SafeSeat...it didn't fit in the booth at restaurants or fit really well on top of the buggies at Target. It served it's purpose, and I'm not sure another model would have done better, but it sure was a pain to us.

We have the Graco Snugride and I love it! I have a 2-door car (wasn't planning on a baby when I leased it) and it's pretty easy to get in and out- just snaps on the base and "ta-da!" DD is pretty small for her age (only 13lbs at 6mos) so I expect to be able to use it well past her first birthday. The only thing I don't like about the Graco is how heavy they are with the baby in it, and I wish it had the side-ways handle like I've seen on others- so nothing major. Anyways I'm rambling now but I'd tell her to keep the seat she bought

I have a safe seat and I love love love my carseat. I never have a problem with the car. It is tight at some restaurants, but like pp said all restaurants are different.

i hated our s b/c it never latched properly into the tops of shopping carts and stuff. but i did love the pattern we got (cherry blossom) and since its still a little hard to get that pattern i was able to sell it for almost as much as i bought it for after we were done. i really like my sisters babytrend carrier.it is a little heavier, but fits everything much better.

i had a graco and loved it. it serves its purpose - keep baby safe in car. they arent meant to be snapped into shopping carts (neither are designed for this use). with restaurants, you will have that issue no matter what carseat you get. I found it best to jsut put the carseat in the stroller and use it that way. just ask for an out of the way table. carseats are strictly designed to fit in the car and in the respective companion stroller. unfortunately, that's jsut like with an infant bucket seat.
