| help on vacation
we wantedd to go on a cruise, but I don't want to pay close to 3 grand on plane tickets, nor do I want to drive to miam(orlando is going to be bad enough). On the side for that matter drake turns 2 years old 6/07 and we would be flying on the 16th and that means it's another PAYING airplane ticket for him as well !!!!! So, I guess disney world is the answer.I found that after 3 days of tickets, it's only a few (like 10 dollars more a day after that for additional days) dollars more and we are planning on staying about 6-7 days. We already know where we will be staying ( I THINK),but my question is...are we going to have to stand in lines for a long time to do stuff. That's my major concern. Also, there happens to be 2 water parks there and maybe in your opinion which is the best for younger kids.I really don't know if we want to do both. Also sea world has their own water park ( I think it's called nautica or something) anyone been there? I'm not going to waste my time going to disney forum boards because I don't have the time.so any help here would be very grateful. ![]()

I think that there are a few cruises out of charleston, SC and also norfolk, virgina. I am not sure when they leave but that would be another option for you. You could even possibly drive to these ports. Not sure on Disney never went in the summer but I am pretty sure you will be standing in line for everything... |

I went before I had DD, but YES there are LINES, especially mid June! You can get use the fastpass and that will help, but not ALL the rides have it. I haven't been to the Sea World in FL only SD, but for smaller kids I think Sea World would actually be more fun (and easier) as it isn't quite as hectic! Sorry I can't be more help, good luck! Vacations are great, but definately a challenge with little ones!

There's a Norwegian Majesty cruise leaving Charleston on June 7th with a 3-4 day stay in St. George returning morning of June 14th, if you are able to take vacation a little earlier. As Priscilla stated, there are many cruises out of Jacksonville all the time and it would be a much shorter drive than Orlando. Have a great time, whatever you decide to do.

| Discount Cruises, Last Minute Cruises, Cruise, Cruise Line, Cruise Vacation You can check here for last minute cruise deals if you haven't given up on one for a departure that didn't need flights. We always went to Disney around Thanksgiving to avoid the summer crowds & the summer heat which can be brutal at times..... AAA also has discount tickets for Disney I believe, if you still plan on going. |

When are you staying at Disney? There is a promo going on for End of August through Sept that includes the meal plan for free...there are restrictions on how many nights you need to stay, but it could work out VERY well for you!

| Go Orlando Card, Orlando Florida Tourism, Orlando City Tours, Orlando Sightseeing Pass Check out this card, you get free admission to a ton of different places with one card purchase, for as many days as you choose. We're going soon, too, so we're checking this out as well. good luck! |

Do you have to go to Disney... We went in July 2yrs ago and it was miserably hot. 90 degrees some days. And while waiting in line it feels like 120! If you must go...bring fan misters.. Couldnt you do Busch Gardens in Va? Or Hard Rock Park in Myrtle?

all my family and friends adviced against going to Disney in the summer, we went one time in the fall and another time in January, it was wonderful. NO lines, just enough people (that makes us feel comfortable), weather was georgeous during the time. how about Branson, MO? have you been there yet? there is a water park there and lots of family entertainment, too. also, if you have the time for a quick time-share presentation (although I'm not sure while lugging a 2 yr old although he can also be your main reason to get out of there quick...LOL), you might just have a free 4D3N stay in a resort hotel as part of the X deal. I suggest the big cedar lodge (owned by bass pro shops), the price of a share there is enough reason for you to say NO!!!! if you haven't been to Branson yet, I highly recommend it. Its like Vegas but not just adult entertainment, its really for families.

It is at times miserably hot down here! I live abt 45 min or so from Orlando and w/ your little one it's going to be tough amd the lines at Disney this time of the year are pretty long (as others said). There are many cruises that go out of Port Canaveral (not sure if I spelled that correctly) HTH ![]() Also have you looked into the Diney Cruise Line...here's some info and search that...maybe that would be an option for you??
