I've been meaning to buy the kids some sunblock for the summer, so I've kept my eye out for a great deal. Today I stumbled across $2 q's for Neutrogena Sunblock while searching for the elusive $6 Physicians Formula Bronzer Q. LOL

I figured I'd check the prices on the Neutrogena Sunblock because I remembered it was a monthly special, buy $15 get $5 back. At the end of the aisle I spotted some Neutrogena Sunblock on clearance. The UPC code was marked so I knew no ECB's but they were a great price $4.20 each. So, I saw the manager and asked him if I could use q's on clearance items, it's always a YMMV thing around here. He said of course, it's no problem. After some quick calculating I decided to get 3 of the clearance tubes. Great!

But wait, I get the tubes, throw in a ECB filler to get me to 15 and then use all my q's. I am soooooo proud of myself, what a great deal! Wow, my kids are so lucky! LOL Then, about halfway home I start thinking, these were on clearance I wonder if they'll still be good for the kiddos. I call the 800 # for Neutrogena when I get home and almost fall over when the recording starts telling me how to read the code for when this stuff was manufactured. February of 2003!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's good for 3 years after when it was manufactured, but 5 years?????? OMG

Of course I will be returning it, but I wanted to let CVS know how old this stuff was, as if they didn't already know! I call the 800# and talked to a sweet girl who assured that she would let the DM know so they could pull it off the shelves, we'll see about that. She also issued a $5 ECB for the trouble.

So, please, if you've purchased any of the Neutrogena Sunblock recently at CVS, please check the code out, the last # is the last digit of the year it was made. I couldn't imagine all 3 of my babes roasting in the sun because of this junk!

I'm glad you found out and didn't use it either. There is a pretty good deal on the CVS brand sunscreen. I like the continuous spray sunscreen, it is $5.99 and the can says 10 oz for the price of 6 oz, 66% more free. There are $1 off CVS sunscreen coupons in the reinventing beauty magazine, and some stores have the coupon inserts free in the beauty dept.

I know I have seen make-up items with peelie coupons or rebates and they are 3 or 4 years old ~ EEEWWWW!!!

BTW ~ I have the illusive $6 PF...where is the deal?!?

No deal really, but I use the bronzer everyday & I'm almost out. I really want to work it into a deal & that Q would be great to use!
