Just an FYI at the store in Knoxville, TN they will only take enough bottles per customer to equal $50. I have Avent bottles, so they said they had to be in sets of 3 since that is how they are sold and I had to have all of the pieces (bottle, ring, and dome). When you bring them in you have leave them at the service desk and pick out the BPA free bottles to replace them and then go back to the service desk to do the exchange. Also, at that store they will only take the Avent bottles that say Phillips on them. Supposedly the started printing that on the bottles 2 years ago and so anything without that is too old. I have many bottles that were bought in the past year without the Phillips on them and was told that they are too old and could not have come from Babies R Us. So, out of almost 36 bottles they would take none of them. They manager just kept saying that there was no official recall and this was just a courtesy for them to offer this. I hope everyone else has better luck.

returned my NUK brand ones today for BPA free bottles and then they gave me the difference $1 on a store card. Easy to exchange and my baby didn't even like the NUK ones!

I took my bottles to Grand Rapids MI BRU yesterday. I called ahead on the phone and they said " we will see what to do when you get here" Last week they were easier to call and deal with but couldnt make it over there then. I brought back 8 wide neck Dr Browns (w/out the white cap to prevent milk from spilling) and 2 little size Dr Brown bottles. They figured out what the price was and told me I could exchange them for any BPA free bottles. They would not give extra on a gift card. I ended up spending $1.08. I was happy, all I wanted was BPA free bottles. I didn't have my receipt and I did have to have mgr sign off and give her my license plus an extra photo ID.

Update on Toledo, OH store.......I was able to take mine back for store credit and less than a week later a friend tried to take hers back. she was told that she could only exchange them for new bottles. She said she wanted her bottles back then (didn't want new bottles) and they REFUSED to give them back to her!!! They kept her bottles! I told her if I was her I would have called the cops because I consider that stealing!

Holy cow!!! Did she just get new bottles then? I heard the born free ones are expensive

WOW!!! I can't believe that even happened! So, since they kept the bottles did she get anything for exchange?
(Just an idea)If she could only get bottles for exchange and does not need them she should sell them at a garage sale.

She was just so mad she left the store! I told her to call them but she wouldn't. I had the same idea about selling new ones at a garage sale, or giving them to her sister, which is pregnant with her first baby. But she was so mad she couldn't think. Been there, done that!

Yes, I know when something like that happens you just don't know what to do or say. Maybe you should call the store for her-they would not know its not her.

I was treatly horribly when I went - I had only 2 8 ounce bottles and now they only make 6 ounces or smaller so they said I could just buy the new bottles since we couldn't do an even exchange

The BRU in Wesley Chapel, Fl refused to provide refund or gift card yesterday. They said since they have Dr Brown BPA free now, they exchange bottle for bottle.

I called my Toledo OH store. Going in tomorrow. A question about the Avent though, I only have 8oz bottles, never bought the sets, just singles. Do you think they'll give me issues???

Nice to see someone from Toledo! They gave me $4.99 for a single Avent bottle. I think the Toledo store is only letting you trade for new bottles now.

Thanks. I don't mind. I wish they'd let me get Drop In liners, but that's considered an "accesory" and won't do it. So I guess 4 Born Free are ok!

Yeah Toledo! Have you had any bad experiences with our Targets? LOL! I hate the one on Alexis!!!

Actually the Target on Monroe has given me a hassle the last 3 times I've been there. The cashiers seem to think they can't adjust a coupon and that you can't use a Target Q and a man Q for the same item. After arguing enough, they have been giving in. I don't get out to Alexis too much.

I have no idea if mine said Phillips or not. They were less than a year old, though. I was lucky, when I took mine back I got store credit. I used it to buy the Nuby bottles, which are cheaper then Avent, so I used the remaining credit towards a carseat. Less then a week later a friend went and they told her she could only exchange them for new bottles.

DARN DARN DARN! I just called BRU and talked to a mgr there, and she said that it has to be bought within 90 days, w/ reciept or on an ACTIVE registry. laksdjg < this really helps with anger believe it or not, just move your fingers across keyboard real quickly. UGH!!!

Well, when I was at Toys R Us I saw someone returning bottles due to BPA, but didn't see if she had receipt or what. I will try calling TRU tomorrow AM, otherwise I'll try BRU again in the morning and hopefully get to talk to a different manager! Sometime's it's all about the person you talk to, yah kno?

Was someone saying Target is also returning these? I have no reciept and my registry is definitely inactive. I have probably about 30 Avent bottles.

I called the BRU in Maple Grove, MN last week and they said they will only take them back if they can verify the purchase by credit card, registry, or receipt I didn't feel like bothering with it anymore so I ended up throwing them all away. BRU does have 6pks of their store brands (BPA free) for $5 so I just picked up a couple of thoes

The BRU stores in Charlotte, NC will only take bottles back if they've been purchased in the past 90 days AND with a receipt. Ugh. I was hoping to cash in last week when I was visiting my in-laws. I asked at the BRU in Jacksonville, NC...the guy working the customer service desk said they were not taking any bottles back at all. It's a new store, so I don't know if that has something to do with it.

I was able to exchange my Avent bottles for Born Free today in Toledo. They counted every 3 as a $12.99 set though, regardless of size. I took in 8 bottles and still had to pay $4 for 4 Born Free Bottles!!! CRAZY, I kinda' feel like now I am being taken advantage of because I want the safer bottle.
