Ok so this is what I got then I'll tell you what happened. I am not mad at walgreens just frustrated that its not a company wide deal, as far as before/after coupon amount

Ok so this is what happened the 5/20.00 came off fine used first. The ES for the off lamps worked, the bogo worked. The ES for the Razors would not work, manager took 1 off for free. Said I could only use one coupon per razor. My 4 year old was being a heathen so I said just take the others off instead of me going and getting more coupons. Ok so at this point my total should have been 6.99 but it was 11.99 because it voided off my 5/20.

Total OOP was 13.37

I did not realize that they had voided my coupon, so I went back in dragging my heathen child and asked for my coupon back

I then went and bought

1.69 Light Bulbs
8.98 2-Walgreen Pain Patch (thermacare)
11.98 2 Walgreens Pain Releiver

USed the 5/20

Total OOP 18.71
Should get 11.69 back in rebates


I guess I did ok Again not mad at the Store more frustrated with it not being consistant or not spelled out how it is to be used

a little *Purchase must be $20 or greater after all Walgreens sales, coupons and discounts - would be nice.

there will be less confusion and disappointments at the register if they just added the terms:

net subtotal should be $20 or more to qualify for $5 discount. any coupons used as part of tender will invalidate the $5 discount.

That may be why I wound up paying $12xx oop on my first transaction... I didn't even think it would void the coupon!

Correct ~ total AFTER WG coupons must be $20 (excluding tax).

My energy spray rang up less than marked and the cashier took $.21 off each pringles so I had to add on 1 bag of Hersheys and 2 packs of gum. I got:

4 Hersheys 10% more bags w/ movie points @ $2 ~ needed to finish ER $5 deal
10 packs stride (rings BOGO and had BOGO coupons )
1 Energy Spray ~ $3.29 ESR
2 boxes cereal straws clearanced for $.50, were $2
3 Pringles $.79

Used the $5/$20 ~ 5 Stride BOGO ~ 1 B2G1 Hersheys ~ 1 $.30/2 Pringles

Spent $8.XX off my GC but have $8.29 more in ESR now!

My transaction should have still worked then because total not counting the razor which ended up being a wash should have been 22.98 subtract the 2.00 es coupon for the lamps would have made it 20.98 before tax so the 5.00 should not have been voided


maybe the voiding of the razors screwed something up

I had a longgggggggggg chat with the asst. manager and the store manager at my walgreens today. My very patient DH let me have my say! I made my purchases and they took off the 5/20 Q then all my Manf. Q's and then when they started the walgreens Q's the 5/20 was voided automatically when my total hit under 20.00.

I nicely explained that there was no indication that the total had to be 20.00 after sales and coupons. The manager wouldn't budge. So I told her this is why it has been a year since i have couponed in your store and I won't be back. I will call corporate and let them know of my disappointment in the store and that I will continue to be a happy CVS'er

Oh I also had her print me a copy of their coupon policies, what a joke!!! I thanked her for her time and left the store with all my coupons in hand of course.

I did 6 transactions today and all of them went ok. I planned them all to be just over $20. My OOP for each trans were all below $10 bec of other coupons. I wonder why registers were programmed differently with qs like 5/20.
