Hanover Ma. Walmart no longer taking Internet coupons unless they are printed directly from the Walmart site. The decision was made in a meeting last night. Of course if someone had posted a sign of some sort to inform customers of this chnage in policy, my shopping trip today would have gone a lot more smoothly. Every coupon I had got scrutinized today- even mfr's coupons. I asked cashier to void out all items I had an IP for if they were'nt going to take them. Too bad because all of it was going to be sent overseas to the Troops. The CSM came over while the cashier voidd everything. I had a balance of .13 cents. Cool! But then the cashier said she needed to void out an IP coupon that she had already put in. I told her to do what she had to do. The CSM said to just let it go because I had already been through enough- (it was a rough ride) I said to her, "You just told me you were'nt taking IP's anymore and now you said THAT ONE is ok?", "If that one is ok, then how come these aren't?" (I had a handful of others I could not use because of new policy instated last night) I said, ' Here's the .13 cents, I don't want the receipt". I usually take the receipt, but I HAD to leave there. Yes, my voice was rising. I am very embarrassed. I told them to put up a sign so shoppers will know BEFORE HAND. I had NEXT weeks shopping trip planned and was going to get myself a pair of pajamas with overage, but I guess I won't be getting them now... Pooey! ![]() Thanks for letting me vent. Aww sorry to hear that. I wonder if Walmart is having a hard time getting reinversed for IP or somethign? What's going on?

So sorry that happened to you...it does take some altering of the trip planning when they throw in a monkey's wrench like no IPs...the Walmart in Maplewood (St. Louis) has never taken them and they have a sign that states that they don't...I don't think they ever expected that people would be able to print 20 Internet printables of something and try and use them all at once (not saying you were doing this)...but that type of extreme couponing is what really makes the rest of the couponer's transactions get scrutinized so in depth...so sorry that happened to you!

Im sorry that happened to you. It is terrible that we have to pay for the trickery and misuse of coupons by dishonest people, I know that is the reason for this new policy.. MY DDIL works at Kroger and she loves to use coupons and see people save but their are some dishonest and rude people who make it hard on us. THe cashier can be disciplened for not following store policy. You were hurt by this new policy but the scammers will just move on to another scam. I do LOVE snail mail coups for this very reason. |

I would still try to contact the store manager. It took me a few days after my bad experience last weekend with our local WM, but I finally did call. Turned out that the cashier and supervisor were mistaken - the memo sent out at the store actually said not to take IPQ's that did not scan or go thru when the UPC was entered - NOT that they would no longer take IPQ's. The WM manager told me that individual stores are not at liberty to make decisions like that anyway. There was an article a few weeks back on MSN.com about the future of couponing being IP's and that eventually the clip outs in newspapers would fade away. Even if this isn't the case, IP's are going to catch on more and more reguardless.... when is WM going to get with the times? I'm sorry you had to go thru this. I felt the same way last weekend - it was just an embarassment. |

I just had a really bad experience at Walmart using regular q's and IP's. The CSM looked at the IPs like she'd never seen them before! I used so many qs the computer stopped taking them! I had to seperate my stuff into two transactions. It was pretty embarrassing bc there was only one register open at 1am and i was doing two weeks worth of shopping. sorry you had such a bad time, too. i really hate to shop at walmart but they're so cheap its impossible to shop elsewhere. |

I mean how many times can the same person go to a store and use the "post it flag's" coupon, for example, using 20 at a time and it wont raise a red flag? I'll be waiting for my walmart to change it's policy too, i feel it coming! |

I had a hassle with my local Walmart in Plymouth, MA. It is a superWalmart. Anyhoo, It was with the Zantac coupon because it was $5.00 and the price was less they had a hissy fit and wouldn't accept my coupon. The cashier accussed me of stealing. Yes I complained and I got a $10 gc. I was told that they would adjust the coupon down but they were having alot of trouble with IP coupons because they were more than what Walmarts prices were. |

The only store around here that does double coupons is Giant Eagle, a grocery store. I get most of my groceries there bc they give discounts on gas with every $50.00. I usually go to Walmart for toiletries and household things. I used to go to Target, but recently they've raised their prices. I just did my first trip to CVS yesterday, paid $6.00 opp, got ~$60 worth of product and $30 in ECBs! so I think I'm going to be going to CVS more often, but its hard bc we only have one car and I have a newborn. I can't believe some of the stories I've read of people buying clothes with their overages! To me, that's not cool. a $.03 cent overage is one thing, but multiple dollars multiple times?! That's too much. I only buy one or two of each item I have a coupon for and it has to be on sale and ultimately be cheaper than the generic version, or I won't buy it just bc I have a coupon. |

I was wondering about Walmart printables when the CSM told me that. I didn't say anything because I thought I just missed them. Checked today- no coupons on Walmart site to print. Yes, very convenient. I did speak to the manager and he verified they are no longer taking IP's. All I can do is email Walmart about it and hope that the issue is addressed directly and not just a copy of their coupon policy emailed to me. I'm still feeling embarrassed and still brooding(that's the Scorpio and the Italian in me!) about it mostly because I need just a dozen or so more of those post-it page markers for the teachers at the school.... I'll just try another Walmart. |

My walmart took them yesterday but they looked at them cery close, if they had scanned it would not have been a problem but for some reason none of the ip coupons I print will not scan. The coupons I had came from smartsource and the website pages of the products that I bought, plus, I only had 2 each of the coupons.

I just found out that my local Walmart is no longer offering the $3.00 of if the item scans at the incorrect price. The CSM said it was because "people were taking advantage of the policy". If their prices scanned correctly then there would be no issue. A call to Walmart corp confirmed that the policy change is for all WM not just mine. |

The Walmarts in my area will only take IP's if they scan. Sometimes they can't even get the regular clipped Q's to scan!!! One very rude cashier reads EVERY word on EVERY coupon and seems rather pleased with herself when she finds a reason not to accept a coupon of mine. (Usually a One Per Purchase I overlooked) She will even check a second time if she doesn't find anything the first look through. Since when did it become a crime to try to save money with coupons?

Update: Hanover Ma. Walmart IS taking IP's again. I was there and saw someone using IP's. I went to customer service and said basically, Hay, What's up with this? I was told..... The employee at Customer Service said, that they did stop taking them, but they are taking them again. I'm wondering~ I had emailed Walmrt Corporate after my incident and never received a response. Do you think corporate contacted that Walmart and that is why they are taking IP's again? I'm thinking they got "spoken to". Maybe not, but I like that thought! So IP away at Hanover Wally!! I think they should not stop taking them maybe put a limit of how many you can use in one transaction that would be better alot of stores will only take four of the same coupons at a time. so that would be good.

My cashier Friday was reading my blue bunny IP and I said I got it right off their site, she said I just have to make sure it has an address to send it to so I can take it.

I have just started couponing in May (Thank you!!! for all the info) I know cashiers get a rating on how fast they process an order (at least at Target). So, I really don't care how long it takes them to look over my coupons, it's on them. I'm saving money, I let them dig stuff out of my bags if they have questions. I think.. yes, I'm saving money, I'm saving money, I'm saving money... If they want to be butts..fine, I'm saving money, I try to be light hearted about it. |

Cashiers at Walmart do get 'graded' by the items per hour scanned and we do get reprimanded if we accept an invalid coupon. Being a couponer myself, I tend to be able to just glace at the coupon and know if it is valid or not. You should see how cashiers go through my stuff since, on top of the coupons, I am getting an employee discount too. After a month of being only able to check out with a manager, they realized people can shop legally for only change per cartful.
