So last week was my birthday, and my DH went to Target to pick up a DVD that I wanted. He's "Mr. Last-Minute Shopper", so he bought the DVD the day of my birthday and gave it to me wrapped in the Target bag...I know, pretty classy, right?

Anyway, he left the receipt in the bag, and attached to it was...

A CRT for $1 off Gold'n Plump chicken! And it doesn't expire until 6-30!

I think I was more excited about that than any of my other presents! And I knew that only fellow AFCers would truly appreciate this story...

the plastic bags are like a mans wrapping paper.. my boyfriend does the same thing.. sometimes I get like the double bagged ones so I cant "peak" .. I claim it isnt peaking when the wrapping is totally see through

too funny! my DH thinks I am nuts, I am like "where's the receipt?!" if he went to CVS..he looks at me like I am nuts when I say I have to have it, cuz there might be good Q's on it!!

For some ocassions what I ask from my DH is not coupons but for him to buy some stuff with coupons. Kinda like a shopping spree for me but he's doing it for free / almost free after qs.

I appreciate the story b/c I always get my presents in the "store bag." I need to send DBF to CVS to get our anniversary present and I already know he would leave the receipt in the bag. I'll make sure to let him know which ECB "present" I want (when truly I just want the ECB's to get stuff I could really use.

That's funny! Sometimes I get DH gifts from freecycle. That might sound cheap, but he actually really hopes sometimes when an item was taken that it was me. In February, we both responded to a post about copper molds, one was shaped like a rooster which is a theme in our kitchen -- he was told it was already taken, turns out I was the one who got it! I shined it up and gave it to him for valentines along with a (free) pack of dentyne cinnamon and a red Itunes gift card I got rolling ECBs. THAT was a free valentines. He doesn't know that I didn't actually spend any money on the last two, but he does know the copper mold was from freecycle and thought that was fun.

DH spends way too much on gifts for me. I just try not to think about how much cheaper he could have gotten it. :-)

I also got an "early b-day present" from the coupon fairy...the Sunday before my birthday, I got 2 Smartsource inserts in my paper!

Anyway, I enjoy celebrating my birthday for the entire week before, so DH is probably happy that it's over for another year!
