I had a horrific experience last night at my local Publix. After shopping there for years and always using 2 Qs for BOGO deals, I was refused it last night by a NEW TRANSFER Asst Cust Service Mgr. Ugh! I met in person with the Head Mgr of the store this morning and I am waiting for him to get back to me... So, does your Publix Allow: 1. Internet coupons up to $1 2. Competitor Coupons 3. Pharmacy Competitor Coupons 4. Publix & Manu Coupon together 5. A Coupon for more than the price (ex: $1 off when the item is .99) 6. 2 Coupons for BOGO Deals 7. BOGO Internet Coupon 8. FREE Product Internet Coupons My Answers: 1. yes and up to $5 internet coupon for higher priced items (ex: $30 coffee maker) 2. yes 3. 1 time per household 4. yes (unless indicated otherwise on the coupon) 5. they just started adjusting the coupon price down to the item price 6. ??? Waiting for an answer 7. NO 8. NO

| So, does your Publix Allow: 1. Internet coupons up to $1 yes 2. Competitor Coupons yes but grocery store only. other publix allows pharmacy competitor Q also, it depends on the manager. some publix allows coupons from any store close by them. 3. Pharmacy Competitor Coupons no. 4. Publix & Manu Coupon together no. but some does. Publix policy states they are suppose to accept one publix Q and one man Q unless one of the coupons states not to. (this is in honor of one of publix mission statements: Passionately focused on Customer Value. 5. A Coupon for more than the price (ex: $1 off when the item is .99) They do unless cashier catches it. 6. 2 Coupons for BOGO Deals They are suppose to take 2 coupons for BOGO. THis is called Publix promise. 7. BOGO Internet Coupon yes I think. 8. FREE Product Internet Coupons no. Publix coupon policy states they are not suppose to take free produt coupons printed off printer. |

As I was telling Angel nee nee in another post. I love my Publix. They bend over backwards to please me. (Read my answer on the Pubix for Newbies about the Secret Shopper theory from my DH ![]() Anyway, I am beginning to believe that perhaps a Mgr. or Regional Mgr. may determine what works best for their stores. My Publix does not take Target q's? So I have another Publix a mile away that I am going to see if they will accept them there. In todays marketplace most stores are really trying hard to keep and maintain a customer base. Let us know how this all unfolds. My Publix: 1. Internet q's ...Yes 2. Competitors...NO Target q's 3. Pharmacy q's...never attempted 4. Publix & mfg...yes 5. Price more than the item...NO 6. BOGO: I use a BOGO and a q for the single product that I purchase only 7. BOGO Internet: never tried yet 8. Free Product Internet q: yes, I believe that I did Dove BOGO Hope this helps let me know if you need anything else. |

| Here is the whole story.... My HORRIBLE Publix Experience... You don't hear that too often from me. I love Publix, right? Well.. not tonight!!! The Publix MOST of my local coupon group shops at has a NEW Asst Customer Service Manager that is a TRANSFER from another store. He happened to come by while I was being rung up and guess what.... ??? come on ... guess... HE REFUSED TO HONOR 2 COUPONS FOR B1G1 DEALS!!!! Believe me I talked and told him this store alllows it and the head mgr had rung me up before, etc, etc... Nope - He wouldn't take them. I made him give me all my coupons back and I made him give me rain checks for all the sale I couldn't get and I made him get me the store mgr's schedule. I will be calling him 7am tomorrow morning. Now... I couldn't rest there... I called my frugal mama peeps who shop other local Publixes and asked if anything changed. Nada! I called another Publix location 3 miles away and asked for a CSR and went of the entire coupon policy. Every question I could think of. She said they take 1 coupon for each item even if it is B1G1. I got her name, then went there and shopped. I introduced myself to her and just let her know I was there to shop. I checked out with NO problems... NONE - ZIP - ZERO - ZILCH!!! $122 pd $26 including produce 79% Savings Part 2.... I met with the store mgr at 7 am in person (5/1/08). He is so nice and easy to talk to.. very even tempered and calming. Since I have spoken with him in the past it wasn't difficult for me. I explained to him everything that occurred and how I went to the other store just a few minutes away and all the coupons I had were honored. To summarize... He said he respects what I do with my coupons, but there are people out there who counterfiet and do not follow the rules and Publix is looking at things more closely because of that. He said the Internet coupons they allow $1 on lower priced items, but the would allow up to $5 on a high priced items (ex: coffee make, $30). He said they do not allow FREE or B1G1 internet coupons. He mentioned that he checked me out one time and he should have watched closer, but I had items for 99 and the coupon was for $1. (I remember this.. it was Ghiardelli Chocolate). He said he can not allow money back. I said some stores allow it as long as you don't get money back at the end of the check out and some adjust the coupon to .99 and he said that is what he should have done. We talked about the Covergirl and how the coupon is $2.50 and the item is $2.49... I told him I totally understand and have no issue with the coupon amount being lowered to $2.49. My main concern and I made it clear, is that for the years I have shopped there I have been able to use 2 coupons for 2 items in the BOGO deal and last night I was not able to. He asked if I had a coupon for him to look at so I gave him the sorbet BOGO deal with the .75/1 manu coupon and he photocopied it. He said he would check with the corporate office and get back to me. He mentioned the bad thing is that Publix does NOT have a written policy on coupons and that he couldn't go to a book and just look it up. I told him I just wanted consistency in that store. Either I can or I can't and I would abide by their policy (or go to a different store). I offered in the future to check out at CS or through a mgr... that it didn't matter to me because my coupons were legitimate. I told him I have no problem with a cashier reading the coupon and making sure I have the item and that they are just doing their job. At one point he commented that the NEW Asst Customer Service Manager has only been a mgr for 2 yrs and he has been a mgr since 1996 and that he knew a little more than the NEW Asst Customer Service Manager. (The NEW Asst Customer Service Manager is the new transfer mgr.. we will call him BAD MAN from here on out.. just kidding)... So I wait to hear back... It does look like they are watching OVERAGE though (which I didn't have last night when I tried to check out... only BOGO deals w/ 2 coupons and produce). The meeting went well, I just hope the BOGO 2 coupon answer comes out well too. But, with so many Publix's that do allow 2 coupons... I can always drive to another for the extra savings.

| Part 3 = VICTORY!!!!!!! The Store Mgr just called me back. He WILL accept 2 coupons for BOGO deals as long as both items don't come out free. The example I showed him was the sorbet BOGO - 2, .75/1 coupons = .80 a container. He said that is fine. He appologized and said he would talk to the new asst. csm. He also said he will try and communicate all of this to the mgr's and cashiers. The store Mgr. said he went through and reviewed Publix's proceedure books and any coupon policy is vague and his decision, is only for his store. He said he can not speak for other stores. He spoke with me about maybe letting a CSR or a Mgr know that I was there to shop and they can open a line just for me to avoid a hassle of people waiting behind me or if a mgr would have to be called over anyway. I think this was a double edged offer. He wants me to be checked out by someone knowledgeable for my benefit, but I also think they want to "see" what couponers are doing. I am fine with it though. I am legit! He again addressed if a coupon was more than the item, the cashier should adjust the coupon to the price of the item. I agreed. This sounds like the end of overage. I told him how I hand the cashier the coupons, to help them out... competitor 1st, then Publix, then manufacturer, and last any coupons they have to write prices on the coupon for. I also put those items last. He said that is perfect to help the cashiers. I am pleased. The next time I shop at this location I will make sure EVERYTHING is SUPER legit and I will do a smaller order, so I don't scare them! LOL! WHAT DO YOU THINK?

hah, so your publix takes publix Q, competitor Q, and man. Q, hah..... interesting.... publix coupon policy stated that they can only either take publix Q or competitor Q. But I might give it a try.

I hate shopping at Publix with coupons. I got a bunch of free product coupons from Kashi in the mail and used them in conjunction with some of the recent sales. They gave me such a hard time. I am sure it is because I live in a college town and most of the Publix shoppers here aren't bargain shoppers. I think I am going to take some of my business over to Winn Dixie or Food Lion for coupon purchases. I will just stick with Publix for buying my produce and meat.

| For me Winn Dixie is better on Meat prices.. They have B1G1 deals all the time. I rarely get meat at Publix. Also, produce is high anywhere... it is better to find a fruit stand or farmer's market if you can. I won't get produce at my local WD because I have gotten overriped and rotten stuff too often. It is sad. I think it is because they aren't as busy as the Publix's around here.

1. Internet coupons up to $1 - Yes 2. Competitor Coupons - Yes, use them all the time! 3. Pharmacy Competitor Coupons - Not tried 4. Publix & Manu Coupon together - Yes (and have also used a publix, manu. and competitor coupon a few times) 5. A Coupon for more than the price (ex: $1 off when the item is .99) - Yes 6. 2 Coupons for BOGO Deals - Yes 7. BOGO Internet Coupon - Not tried 8. FREE Product Internet Coupons - No, when I called to ask about Internet coupons the CSR made sure to point that out to me (Publix is the only grocery store in the area that will take Internet Coupons) Overall, I tend to prefer to shop there to match items on sale with coupons. It is a little further of a drive than Kroger, so I tend to only go to Publix once or twice a month.

maybe it's just me, but I feel like publix is only nice to rich people... I don't mean if they are not nice to you, you must not have good income or anything. I mean I feel like Publix is not nice to pepole who are trying to save money and "live cheap." |

| I agree with you. The cashiers are often perplexed when they see me pulling all of my coupons out of my LV purse. They probably think I am just stingy or something but I couldn't have saved up for it if I hadn't been shopping smartly and saving $30 per week for months beforehand.

I just spoke to an Asst. manager at my Publix last week about internet coupons, as I was told once before that they didn't accept any. Now they do, this is the run-down of what they accept from what I remember of the conversation: 1. Internet coupons up to $1 - Yes 2. Competitor Coupons - Not sure/didn't ask - tsk tsk I know! 3. Pharmacy Competitor Coupons - Not sure 4. Publix & Manu Coupon together - not sure 5. A Coupon for more than the price (ex: $1 off when the item is .99) Yes with adjustment 6. 2 Coupons for BOGO Deals - Not sure 7. BOGO Internet Coupon - No, although they did honor a free product coupon from a box at the store just yesterday 8. FREE Product Internet Coupons -No |

I have shopped once after my HORRIBLE experience at this store. I had a small order though and less than 20 coupons. Everything went fine, but I am not sure if I will keep going to this store or switch to another of the 5 Publix's within 15 minutes of where I live (literally that many!).
