I gotta brag... found 2 brand new leapsters at GoodWill recently. One for $10.99 and second for $14.99. They are working so far, later we will see, but what for is leapfrog customer service, huh?

When I was a kid, we grew mint in our yard. I put some on a cookie sheet and set it in the oven where the pilot light would dry it out. A couple days later, the gas company came to do some work. When the employee came to relight the oven pilot light, he thought there was marijuana drying there! Mom told him it was mint, but he looked dubious, so she crushed some and stuck it under his nose so he could smell it!

I know that this is an old post, but I could not help but reply because it made me laugh so hard!! And reminded me a very funny and embarassing story, that I have just have to share. Ok, when I was 18, my parents just built a new and huge house. SO I went out and bought a used bedroom set. I wanted one that when I moved out I could take it with me. Crazy thing is is that I had it moved into my upstairs bedroom no problem. But when I moved out, right before we were about to put one of the smaller dressers in to the bed of my bf's truck a bright red vibrater came flying out of it. And it was NOT mine! I have no idea where it came from. Everyone was just standing there staring at it in complete shock! MY parents, brother, best friend (who is a guy) and my boyfriend. I was mortified!! I just started laughing, so hard that I was crying. And my boyfriend was like "I cannot believe that you did not put that somewhere else". I just kept saying that it was not mine and noone would believe me. After a while I was like I am not touching it, and they were like "but it is yours! Just pick it up and take it with you!" I ended up running inside, grabbing a paper towel to pick it up and threw it in my parents trash. To this day no one believes that it is not mine.

Two things: 1. I'm heading to the thrift store to look through pockets (this may be my new hobby!) 2. Just remember if you sell anything that has weed in the pocket, you better put "Doritos included" in the description! ![]()

Two things: 1. If your pot usage has become such that you don't know where your "stash" is (you're forgetting it in jacket pockets, and toilets) it's time to quit! 2. I'm going to start hanging out at the thrift stores and CHECKING POCKETS! So, if you go into a thrift store and see some woman with a coupon binder frisking all the clothing, it's just me looking to see what's in pockets. Another new hobby, going from apt. to apt. to "look at renting" and check all the toilets for bricks. ![]() I think those people who left the pot in the toilet tank, misunderstood what some water conservationist talk about when they suggest to put a brick in your tank to save water. Maybe they were just making do with what they had!?! LOL LOL

The scary thing is lets say she really did not know that there was wacky weed in the jacket and she sells it The law would find her guilty We should all check anything we sell..open all boxes...remember we are crossing state lines and using the USPS and boy what kind of federal drug laws would we face, After the holidays I am going to call the sheriffs office and find out This is so unreal and funny

I use to do the 'buy at a thrift or yard sale to resale' but the fees got so high and so many people were buying but not paying and you can't even leave them a NEG that it just isn't as fun as it use to be. I may start selling again in the spring??

OMG thats too funny about the "spices" in the pocket. I am a thrift store addict too, I go at least twice a week and more when I can. I got a brand new DVD player (very small portable player) for only $6 earlier this year. Just today, I got reduced Dora fruit snacks (95-cents each...reg. $2+ in the store), and a Big Wheel ride on toy for my daughter ($6). I thrift at the local Goodwill stores. I haven't started to resell yet, but now that we have broadband, I may have to look into it.

I love thrift store shopping. We been going there often to buy stuff that we needed to get by until our stuff show up if it ever does. We got Christmas dishes 42 pc. for $6.00 so better than using throw away plates every day and it is Christmas time. WE got all the kids Church clothes for $1.99 each pc. Boy pants and shirt so for $3.98 an outfit not bad and some of them were brand new as still had the store tags on them. I got a dress for $3.99. All this at Goodwill but I found another thrift store for clothes all clothes are $1.00 but what is marked and so I really got the kids all the clothes they need for school for right now so I was blessed to find that thrift store but they don't have a lot of anything else. Goodwill is not real close so want be going too often unless we need something. But I love thrift stores.

I thought they check all the pockets before they put anything on the sales floor. So I am guessing something .... is going on there. |

I too am addicted to the awesome finds at my local thrift stores. We have 2 small ones, for seniors it benifits their daycares etc. I love them, they have the best deals and I find such great stuff there. I too sell the stuff on ebay if I find something great that my kids or I cannot use. Way to make the $$ momma !! I have no idea how someone overlooked the weed in the pocket, when I volunteered at a local thrift shop we were told to check everything out first. Nasty stuff I have found, but never weed...lmao. Here in Mendocino county it woudnt be a big supprise though haha were known for our weed. I myself have never done it nor do I want to..not my thing. Good luck with your sales =]

Wow that's hilarious! Baggy, toilet brick, uhm vibrator... You all are so funny!I don't do a lot of thrift store shopping (I want to do more, just haven't yet!) but I did do myself proud not long ago by finding my dog a NWT woolrich football jacket for 1.99. I looked them up on ebay and that particular style was starting at 29.99 USED! Needless to say, my doggy is stylin' and keeping warm! I also found a cute bomber jacket for 1.99 and a faux shearling lined suede dog jacket for 2.99. If anyone needs or wants a jacket for their dog, don't forget to look at Goodwill! |
