I went to Food Lion this AM and they had several of the Beechnut 2nd foods on closeout for $.26. The flavors I got are peaches and sweet potatoes/apples. They also had turkey rice and some of the third foods, which I didn't look at too closely because my little guy doesn't like those. With the $1.50 Q off 8 jars, that makes each jar $.08. I did leave some on the shelf for the next person and even pulled them to the front so the next shopper could see them. Check your aisle next time you go! I will definitely check. I was in earlier this week but no markdowns on the babyfood. Hopefully that has changed! Thanks for the heads up.

I went today to Food Lion & they had 2 of the Gerber 3rd Foods marked down to .38 cents. I bought the Blueberry Buckle dessert & I think the other marked down item was the Vanilla Custard.

Be careful on stocking up. I have about 20 jars right now and my little one has been giving me a hard time. He wants to feed himself and he even tries to pull the spoon out of my hand (he is a strong one) and I would let him but it never makes it to his mouth when he does it. So we have been doing alot of finger foods that he can do himself. So don't stockpile too much cause you never know when you will have a protester on your hands...although I guess some of them you can add into food like extra veggies in pasta sause or make smooties or something...

Good point! I wish I had that problem, but my son has severe feeding issues which required a feeding tube for 3 months. It took me 2 months offering baby food before he would accept it and it now looks like we will be facing the same battle with finger foods and solids. He is very sensitive in his mouth and gags on even the chunky third foods! Sorry for the long story! Anyway, you are right. Babies change so quickly and so do their tastes. I hope I have extra to donate but my little man may be on baby food way too long!

My son is over a year old and mostly on "people food". But I still give him jar food from time to time to fill in a meal. I also mix the fruit ones into his oatmeal to thicken it up and give it more flavor. It is not as big a budget buster to buy 10 jars at a time instead of 40-50 at a time.

Thanks a bunch for posting this great deal! I have been waiting on a good deal to stock up on baby food. It took me going to three different stores before I found what I was looking for, but it was well worth it. I got so much baby food, I might not have to buy any more...ever!

Hurry if you are interested. I went back to my FL today and they only had a few left and were already putting out the new flavors. I couldn't resist and bought 30 more jars.

OMG, did I clean up last night! One of my FL had TONS of stuff marked for closeout! They had all kinds of Beechnut and EVERY LAST JAR of the Del Monte baby food marked to very cheap! DH just groaned when he saw it all, but my 20 month old loves eating out of individual containers (cheerios go in baggies, turkey pieces go in a little bowl) and the glass jars are less stress in the diaper bag! Yippee!!!!

I went to my FL and they didn't have the beechnut foods marked on clearance, but I got several anyway since I had the coupons and it was still a good deal. Much to my surprise, 3 of the flavors did ring up at $0.23 each as opposed to the $0.47 the others rang up. I got the First Foods: carrots, peas, green beans rang up $0.23, and bananas, peaches, sweet potatoes, and pears rang up $0.47. I'll be going back for more of the $0.23 ones tomorrow. Will probably get them to price-scan some of the others also. Thanks everyone!

There were Q's in the paper several weeks ago. I have also been saving my labels and sending them in. If you send in the UPC's for 48 jars, they will send you four Q's for $1.00 off any 10 Beechnut products, which is good b/c you can mix & match cereal, Tabletime stuff and jars. Most Q's are only good for the jars. It drives DH crazy because I write what is in the jar on the top and then peel off the labels before I put them away. He never knows what he is feeding DS- one day he told DS that he was getting refried beans (the veggie stew does kind of look like refried beans). |

I have been using the $1.50/8 jars coupon that was in the inserts a few weeks ago. The FLIP coupons never scan at my stores and it is too much of a hassle! I went back today and still found more Beechnut food! I got the turkey rice dinner, peas and carrots, chicken and stars, and a few other kinds. The shelves were almost empty but it was a pleasant surprise to get more! I also save the labels and have been sending in for the $1/4 tabletime products coupons. I think it required 25 UPCs and you get 3 or 4 of those coupons. |

Okay, had some more FL fun today. Went to one store, but they actually had the closeout prices marked and thus did not have much product left. Went to another, not as nice store, and they did *not* have the closeout prices marked, so I price-checked the ones that PP had mentioned and sure enough they came up $0.23, $0.26, $0.37. I got 32 jars of Beechnut food (mix and matched $0.23 ones and $0.26 ones), 4 boxes of cereal ($1.04 each), one pack of Gerber wash or toss spoons ($2.30), 4 2-packs of Gerber food ($1.09 each I think), one pack of FL wipes ($1.49), and beer for DH ($7.49). I used coupons: 1 $1.00 beechnut FLIP, 1 $1.00 gerber food FLIP, 1 $1.50 FL wipes FLIP, 1 $2.00 gerber accessory FLIP, 4 $1.00 off beechnut cereal, 1 $1.00 off of 4 gerber 2-packs, 4 $1.50 off 8 beechnut jars, and paid a grand total of $11.81. So if it hadn't been for the beer, I got all that baby food and stuff for a bit over $4.00. There is more un-marked closeout cereal at the not-as-nice store, so I'm ordering some more cereal coupons and hoping that no one else takes all the cereal before they get here.

So MrsFloyd and I made another trip today to two more stores and racked up! At our last store however, the cashier was eyeballing every jar. She would not let us stack the FLIP with the manu. Thats ok, I only spent about $1.58. We even asked the manager about it and she told us no.

Remember if you have overstocked and can not use it before the exp date you can donate to the crisis pregnancy center in your area or Christian Ministry. That is what we are doing with all our baby finds.
