I too, got up early to go to Walmart today. It is my oldest son's bday today (the other one is tomorrow) and then at 9 we had to meet Cub Scouts to go plant 100 trees. I got there and there were none at the greeter, and no seeds. She didn't know anything about the seeds and she said the cashiers were handing them out. I asked a cashier about it and she said that you had to fill one up in order to get one, otherwise you just got the plastic bags. I said well that is not what it says on Walmart.com. When I checked out I used a different cashier and she said that they were told by the store manager yesterday. They were also told they would have 5,000 plus and got 300 this morning. No one knew anything about seed packets. I am glad I didn't drag the boys with me, just to get their seeds.
On a side note, I did manage to get 6 post its! I am an elementary ed major and one of my best friends is a teacher so they will be put to use.

I got mine today, but only because I asked about it and then went to customer service to get it!
I didn't see a single one at a register! (They're hard to miss...they're bright green!!!)

Just sent my e-mail to corporate. I'll let you guys know what I hear. I felt like I wasted my time, getting up early and dragging everyone out to WM.

Of course since we were already there, we bought seeds to start our garden, bird feeders, bird seed and 3 boxes of FREE Honey Bunches of Oats.

we only went there this am to get those anyways, but i hate how i felt for going to get one. I asked one of the front end managers, expalined to her how i got an email and saw the advertisement online and explained it to her, where we live is a lil bit country, the way she looks at me was one of those "organic, city folk" asking about a bag.

She radioed to another manager, who responded with telling her to tell me it was a promo set up through Kellogs and to walk through the grocery area to see if somebody had set up a table, i asked "well, you don't even know if anybody is here for it," thinking in my head wouldn't they know if somebody was in thier store and they had no clue what i was talking about . like i was some alien from another planet.

but she did say, oh i know we have the bags you can buy, which i said yes, i know i have those, and she says, oh all i know is were supposed to ask ppl to buy them, cause we are getting rid of our plastic bags !

So, we end up buying a few things we needed anyways, and of course i have my reusable bag to use anyways, you would have thought i asked the cashier to do a song and dance for me. First, she is looking for the price ticket on the bags and when i make her aware that i have already purchased the bags then she says in a very rude and sharp tone, "well, you don't have enough" (i had all the items in the bag when i got to the register so i knew they fit), i killed her with kindness by saying " oh, i'm sure it will be fine" then she's spouting under her breath, these bags, blha blah blah blah. gesh If you don't wanna work in public service, then DONT

ok ,i called and sounds like a spoke with somebody who get thier own ed-ja-ma-cation at walmart themselves, i highly doubt anything will come out of it, what a bummer.

Glad I quit Walmart about 2 yrs ago still do not miss them and theyr rudeness.

So, we got up early and ran to Walmart for our free bags and I called last night to make sure our Walmart was participating. The manager said yes. So, went and NO bags. Nobody knew what I was talking about. I told them I called last night and talked to a manager. So she calls...somebody...and it turns out to be the man that I spoke with last night. He said he didn't realize it was advertised for 8 a.m. and he wasn't sure what time they'd be getting them out for the customers. I wasn't happy. Luckily we were driving over to the next town to go to a flea market and stopped at their Walmart. We had to make a purchase to get the bags, so I bought a box of goldfish crackers. What a mess this was!! I was really disappointed and it was nothing like they advertised.

Ps. I sent an email to the "Contact Us" spot on the Walmart webpage. I told them the hoopla that occured today and that I was disappointed that they were falsely advertising something to bolster their PR. It probably won't do any good but at least I feel a little better.

I too got up early this morning and dragged ds son out with me...Like everyone else no one knew what the heck I was talking about!!!!! The Mangaer at the other walmart I went to gave me one of their own bags.
UGHHH!!! then guess what!?!?! I had to go back this afternoon to return something...for DH and long behold they HAD THEM!!! I got one and by the time I returned my item they were all gone... People were going back in and taking them sending their kids in how GREEDY???????
1000 were gone in 10 minutes...

I asked about these at my Walmart and they said they are giving them out on Earth Day (Tuesday)
