| Target Limiting to 1 of each type of q
Ok...one of the ladies on another forum's husband is doing upgrades for T right now...and it looks like the new policy will be you can only use one type of mfq per transaction....Here's an example: You have 3 q's for Johnson's Buddies You will be allowed to use the first q and then the register will not accept the other two q's even though you have the product. You can still use one tq and one mfq per item...They are supposed to be done upgrading all of the stores by May...I know it has started in Tx...just thought i'd share. I understand limits, but 1? Come on! Please let this be a rumor. I've just recently fallen in love with Target. It could be a short-lived affair.

There is one T in Mckinney Tx that would only let me use 3 at a time. That was some months ago. Just so sick of T, I no longer shop there. Sad part is I still have GC's that I haven't used! Even free hasn't been able to get me in one! |

I don’t think that policy will come to light. Target use coupons to increase both trips and sales. By adding that limit, it would potentially decrease both. Also, Target’s motto is “Expect More, Pay Less”. This would not fall under that philosophy.

I can understand a reasonable limit, a lot of the grocery stores around here limit you to 5 of the same coupon. I could handle 5 because I rarely walk in there with more than 5 of the same coupon. But 1 is absurd, they would get so sick of me breaking everything into different transactions instead of hauling my daughter in and out of Target five times!

I understand a limit because i could always just go to another line and do more since our target is really big with registers on oppisite ends of the store. 5-10 is about right and i would even go every day for 5-10 items. But, if I could only get one of something, and with gas prices the way they are, I would not plan extra trips to Target even if the product was darn near free.

I just can't understand these stores they get reimbursed for all these Qs. It's not like the companies that issue these Qs don't know what's going on(people using multiple Q's). Also, people aren't trying to use 5q for one item...they are using 1q per item...I just don't get it and it's ![]() ![]() |

well you do know that their policy states they have the right to limit quantites and my target has been tripping for a while now about coupons if the coupon states one per purchase that's all you are getting at least with some of the cashiers i hardly ever go in there anymore i mean i use to go everyday

I was in Target yesterday and used 6 of the Morningstar Farms, 6 of the Pop-Tarts, and multiples of Johnson's as well. No problems, the cashier just K1'd 'em all.

Yeah right! There is no way! I will believe it when I see it and if it is true they have lost my business. I bet Walmart would be super exicted to hear this though.

I agree with Rach - Walmart would be happy to take over our business if Target doesn't not want to be coupon friendly - my Walmart is very good about taking coupons. If they seriously go to one per transaction I will just simply stop shopping there. I love Target because of all the good deals I can get, but it means all those trips - I am definately not going to waste the gas and the effort of lugging my son around if I pay $.25 more and only one trip to WalMart a week (and since they will price match, am I really out anything except the Target coup savings?)- I am going to call my store manager and see what they have to say about this deal!

In the past 3 month's I have REALLY grown to hate this store! Everytime I go in there, it seems that I get BS about coupons, never the store coupons or the printables, but the ones from the Sunday paper!!!! I don't get it, if they put a limit on the coupons, isn't that just like spitting in the face of the suppliers of the products on the shelves? I mean, when I am denied the use of coupon after coupon after coupon at Target, I eventually get ticked off enough to say "screw it, cancel my transaction". Alot of times they are coupons for items that I wouldn't usually buy, like a new body wash, shampoo, snacks for the kids, etc. Well, the coupons go back in my book and I will eventually forget about it before the exp. date. So, my conclusion.....not only is Target ripping off the consumer, but, the manufacturer as well! TARGET....BOOOO!!!

this is one of those I will believe it when I see it things. Kind of like the scare every one was hearing about the return policy changing on February 1st. That was all knickers and no fur coat. In other words not true. The total opposite has been communicated to stores about accepting coupons. They are trying to get the word out albeit poorly in some stores. But I really wouldn't worry about this. Sometimes it works out like the old telephone game. One person hears something, they pass it on with a little twist and so does the next guy and so on. Eventually you wind up with something totally different from what you started with.

I hope that you're right.....this would stink. I won't worry about it until it happens. Otherwise, I'll just be doing lots of separate transactions!!

They honestly can't do that, since the manufacturers will be really upset with Target when we all start calling them about their coupon policy. Though if they do, then we will all be holding up the line a lot more.

separate transactions would work ONLY if they allow it. I've read stories where some snotty SMs/cashiers would retaliate by telling customers who want to use coupons for like items in order to go around the system and still use all their coupons in separate orders BUT they have to go at the end of the line after each transaction to give way to the next customer and you have to wait for your turn again. If that ever happens, I don't think it'll be worth it to shop at Target anymore it is far worse than if they just took control of their own store IPs to limit it to one per customer but limiting MQs to one per transaction? I'm not sure of the percentage of customers who use coupons at Target or any other store but if they see that it doesn't hurt their profit margin, they will go ahead with this program and it only hurt those who use lots of MQs and in-store coupons to get items cheap, if not free.

Target is my favorite store. some cashiers at like they are losing money if I use coupons. I just go to the younger guys and they are just as sweet as can be about the coupons.

The manager of the store in Chattanooga told me this today on the phone...he said that it will be before May that we can only use one coupon per order even if you buy more of the items, you can only use one coupon....same as stated in Jenn2882's first comment. I had to call the store to actually find out if they had changted their policy, because the cashier would not take the Target coupon for Poptarts combined with the Man coupon for .85 off two. She said they were not allowed to combine them, and being that I had 6 boxes (for Easter baskets) I told her to keep everything that I had in my $123.00 order and I walked out of the store with nothing and will not be going back. The manager said that she was wrong (duh) and that she has been reprimanded and I asked him that was great, but how will the Easter Bunny feel about me shopping at Publix from now on!!!???? Anyway, not too happy with Target, but what can you do??? He said that there is a lot of fraud out there and probably 7 out of every 10 people that some there to use coupons do it fraudulently (?) and if people would limit the number that they use on their own, the corporate office would not have had to do this.......again what do you do?

How long do they want to hold up the lanes with customers making seperate transactions? There's ways to get around this is, IF comes to pass.

I am sure there are ways around this, like everyone has said, but what an inconvenience. I don't understand how they can say so many people are using coupons fraudulantly?!?! If that is the case, then limit the amount of printables to one per transaction, but manuf. coupons from the paper... come on.
