I could interpret that to mean 1 RR per customer or per transaction..am I not a customer each time a do a seperate transaction?? I mean not me physically, but doesn't the register read me as a new customer with each transaction that I do..I did this deal more than once (ok, so I did it 20 times between Olay and Zest), but each time it was a seperate transaction spread out over 3 stores and since I paid each transaction seperately, at the end of the day, doesn't the register count each transaction as a customer?? JMHO I don't feel like a criminal and won't be made to feel like one for being savvy enougn to match up a Q with their own sale that generated RR...again, JMHO

doubledeal -- Don't feel like a criminal. Apparantly most of the cashiers and management didn't read the fine print either. I had a manager check me out 2x. Each time, I did 2 transactions. I am sure he'd have said something. I think he really wanted my business.

Hmmmm...this one could cause some controversy..I think that they put these deals out there to get people into the store #1. However I don't think that they intended on people cleaning out the stores. However even though they only have one per customer, (to make sure there is enough to go around) they can't possibly enforce this since, unless you wanted to do 20 transactions. I think that if they really want to limit people they should do what CVS does and get everyone a card!!!

I asked our SM about this and he said, "that is subject to interpretation, I consider one who comes up to the register as one customer. when you or anyone comes back for another transaction, you are considered another customer. and that is also how the register views it. I don't feel like a criminal because if something isn't clear, I ask the manager, not any Tom, Dick or Harry at the store. It doesn't hurt to ask, its better to be well informed rather than just guessing or being embarrassed by store personnel and treated like a thief. |

The ads of stores have, for years, put a limit on how many items of a certain special priced item a customer can acquire. This is so that they can have stock available for more people and so that their ad won't seem to be misleading on the fact of advertising something and not stocking a reasonable amount for the customers. For example, if a grocery store ran whole fryers for .19 per pound, you would have a hoard of shoppers with freezers at home buying carts full of the birds. However, the store will ususally say 1/per or 2/per customer, etc. Now, if they limit the amount you can buy, they have to have a pretty small customer base in order to say to you the next time you are up at the register, "You can't buy big bird (or tiny bird) because you have already purchased your limit." Now if you just walked through and bought your limit, turned around and said, "Purchase #2," then they could call your hand on that one. In the case of CVS, the registers are suppose to track the number of special items you are buying and that is the limiting factor. You don't get the special deal on multiple deals unless it is factored into the register to allow it. Walgreens does not have a "store card" and can not, therefore, track the sales. It is up to them to personally identify the repeat customers.

I did buy only one per transaction. At 20 different Wag's! Do I feel bad, NO. Every time I did the Olay deal I always had something extra in my cart. Still buying them, when I can find them. No worries here.

This is the way I look at it, it's just like the "one per customer" loss leaders at other stores: if you are hard up enough for this deal to come back every day and shop then go for it. They just don't want people cleaning out the shelves because they want the loss leaders there for other people to buy. I think doing multiple transactions in one visit is not what they intended, but if you want to go from Walgreens to Walgreens all day long (who me? ) doing this deal once at every store, I don't personally think that is a problem.

Thanks everyone for easing my mind. I did not clean them out of the roduct and when I went yesterday they had full shelves again. I guess for deals like this again, I will have to make many trips to the store, I am still pretty new at this and this Olay deal was my 1st BIG save. |

I would think I deal per transaction. The cashier did not question me doing 9 transactions yesterday for 6 olay deals, 2 razor deals, and the HE deal.

The cashiers and managers at every Wags I have been to are O.K. with you working their system by doing multiple transactions. If they don't want you to do a special offer more than once, they have the right to limit quantities - in this case by denying multiple transactions. If a cashier were to limit me to 1 transaction I would smile, say OK and put the rest back. That is their right. Don't feel bad. They allowed you to buy as you did. You did not hide them in your purse and sneek out. They just realized that if everyone did the same as you, they would run out of stock. That is why many of us on here, including myself, try to limit the number of transactions we do at one time. But if I had driven as far as you did I would have gotten as many as I could have too. Maybe you could try using different registers next time? Check out 1 or 2 in cosmetics, again in photo, then at the front. Although I wouldn't try getting more than 1 at a time at that store for a while to advoid putting a red flag on myself. |
