Ok here is the scoop...our very first Target opens 3/9/08.

But I got a special invite to come to the business member celebration tonight and to shop.

What kind of deals should I look for? I am hoping they have raffles for free GC. I would be in HEAVEN if I won one.

Oh I am so excited. I really don't want to be at work. I want to be standing inline saying OPEN OPEN OPEN.

That would be awesome... Our walgreens opened a few weeks ago here and it took a bit to get the circulars in the paper... Soap is the deal this week

They had alot of unadvertised clearance things here...

When a new Target opened by my house when I lived in Wichita, my sister and I went for a special pre-opening and they gave everyone 10% off their purchase. Not sure if they will be doing that at your store, but you might get lucky!!

I don't have any advice for you, but be sure to let us know how it goes! We had one open up about 2 years ago, but I wasn't into couponing / deals as much, and didn't pay attention to any special treats.

Our Target opened about 6 months ago and there were some awesome deals for about 2 months. They would randomly have things on end caps like 3 for $5 on GM cereal. Sometimes they were hidden and definately, but the sign at the top always said "New Store Special" at the top where it usually says Clearance or something of the sort. Keep your eyes open. I know I stocked up on some great deals at the time. HTH

is it a super target?

if yes, then be sure to check out the meat department the first few days they open (and maybe during the preview??). Look for the ones with the red and white peelie labels for $2-3 off. i have gotten some really good deals when new stores open up because of their "trial runs" they do. Also, they will have clearance right away so check end caps and then the blue and white "new store deals" are pretty good.

hopefully you will also get coupons in the mail from them. depends how they are marketing to your area.

We have one opening the 9th here in Okla too (not a super) It is gonna be so close to my house it may end up being a BAD thing hee hee I can't wait to go! I was hoping for a mailer/coupon something. Haven't heard a peep

ok I got there at 3:30pm found out that I couldn't shop until after 5pm because the mayor, country supervisor and everyone else running in the current election had to talk about how they helped get target here. The kids got cranky I got sick fromt eh wind and we came ome. NO real shopping oh well.

Plus they weren't giving anything for free no coupons or anything and they cancelled the raffles for some reason

Then today in the mail I got a $5.00 off $25.00 coupon.
