I always go to the cosmetics counter, the girl there is very nice and rings the coupons up--no questions asked! Of course you will have to see how your Walgreens is with the cashiers.

Also a lot of times the end caps at walgreens (usually in the back) will have items marked down and you can still use q's which makes them even cheaper. Since yours is just opening, you might not have this but I always make it a point to look at the end caps to see if I can get something cheap!
