What could I have done different to bring my oop lower?

Hi,
Made it to Walgreens today for the RR deals. I made 4 seperate purchases. Here's what I bought and coupons I used.
1st

Natural Chapstick 2.00
COUPONS
Chapstick 1.01
Fusion 4.00
Robitussin 3.00
TOOP
$8.79
Got back $6 and $2 RR for the chapstick and razor
2nd
Robitussin 3.99
Gilette Fusion 9.99
Natural Chapstick 2.00
COUPONS
Chapstick 1.01
Fusion 4.00
Robitussin 3.00
TOOP
$8.79
Got back $6 and $2 RR for the chapstick and razor
3rd
doz egss 1.50
Venus Embrace 9.99
COUPONS
$6 RR
$2 RR
TOOP
$4.04
mir for razor $9.99
4th
doz egss 1.50
Venus Embrace 9.99
COUPONS
$6 RR
$2 RR
TOOP
$4.04
mir for razor $9.99
For some reason the Robitussin RR wasn't printing so they gave me $4.22 back. He tried to tell me it was because I bought the wrong one, and he would let it slide THIS time. So, he went and brought up a different kind and rand it through, NOTHING, he said it shouldn't be long......the RR never printed for that one either. I almost started laughing!!
Anyways, my TOOP(including the $4.22 refund)was $21.44 that seems awful high don't you think? Could I have done something different? Any input would be welcomed, I plan on doing this again today or tomorrow.
TIA
Steph

Did you include the two $9.99 rebates?

Yeah, it looks to me like you made money because you did not take into consideration that you will get the 9.99 for both items after rebate.

Hi,
I took into consideration the 9.99 rebates, BUT I was still concerned about the OOP price.

I am confused. Your OOP is before the rebates for the razors correct? Because you will get your money back when you mail in the rebate so I wouldn't be concerned that you OOP is high. Especially if you get a gift card you will get 10% back too.

You can not do anything different because of what you are buying to get the RR. You have a high out of pocket expense at first because of what you are buying.

Though if you wanted to buy the Chapstick and the Robotussin first and then use the RR from one of those to pay for the razor, your out of pocket would be lower.
