I was just in the store I frequent often, and was shown an email from loss prevention stating that this q was only intended for use by certain customers at certain SC FL stores. Any other use will be considered fraud. Please read my post on the original thread for this q for more info. I am too angry to write it all out again, and I need to write corp. Just want to alert everyone!!

I could scream! I wasted all morning with 3 kids whining!!

I haven't had any problems using THIS coupon, but did get questioned on the other "normal" ones from them.

Thanks for the info I was planning on going back and using it today.. I have used it several times with no problem.. But I won't try it again now.

I just talked with my local foodlion and I asked my friend who works in customer service about this and she said many people are bringing them in and they were still accepting them as long as they scanned. They have not received an email banning them so far. So, guess where I am heading to right now....

Guys - "Fraud" is a strong word. Food Lion put this coupon out there for use. They did NOT put WHERE it was supposed to be used. That is THEIR fault! They can certainly stop you from using it, but they cannot call it fraud, nor can you get in trouble for using it.

I thought so too, but that's what they accused me of. They said if we pull it off the internet we are committing fraud. That's why I was so angry. I will be writing several letters tonight!

I used it 11 times total 8 times at one store in one visit stocking diet pepsi while on sale. Oh my... I wish I had seen this first. Hope doesn`t affect my foodlion taking internet qs.

Heres the thing ladies....

This is NOT FRAUD on our part. They placed it in a public Newspaper. The newspaper even made it printable. The original source is where we are getting it from.

FL's policy is, if it scans, they take it.

So, they are now screaming UT-OH what did we doooo.... Not our fault and we are only NORMAL for taking advantage of such a huge savings in this day and age.

As for them saying "Fraud" I would have clearly let them not it was not I who put it in the Newspaper, It was not I who made it printable, It was not I who made it scannable in their system. It is not I who commited fraud so stop using that word.

Another thought, people subscribe to out of town/state newspapers all the time. Who is to say you don't have a subscription to that paper and received the coupon yourself?

That is true, They are being entirely ridiculous. WE did not HACK their computer system and make a coupon scan. They need to get over themselves.

And it is also true, Corp. says use it if it scans, most FL's do NOT follow Corps commands.

I will NOT feel bad for this nor will I allow them to make me feel like a criminal.

I think Food Lion is a nice store and they have some really great deals, when combined with coupons, but also have experienced in the past some uncoupon friendly cashiers and management.

They publish a coupon without restrictions or limits then gripe becuase shoppers use it. It really makes no sense and makes me wonder how intelligent those in charge are. I think they use term fraud as a scare tactic.

I am glad I didnt make a drive over to the next town, there's 4 Food Lions
I had a 10/25 coupon ready for each store, but at the last minute decided to postpone my shopping trip had a bad headache. Then read here about problems with the coupon so glad I didnt go.

Sorry others had problems and am happy for those who were able to use the coupons as they did nothing wrong.

I used the coupon today in Va. Beach without a blink. Food Lion got my business this week because of this coupon. Without it I would have shopped at Farm Fresh or HT.

After reading the original post I decided to call headquarters and ask,the lady I talked with knew nothing about it said she would investigate and call me back.While I was on the road they called back and left voicemail,wanting more information and me to fax them a copy so they could tell me if it was good.I do not have access to a fax machine and was already on my way to the store,so I went up to the customer service desk.They called the manager up front and asked,he said as long as it was not on their of fraud coupons it was fine,so I used it twice and gave a couple of my favorite cashiers one to use.I go in this store several times a week(in a small town)so I did not want any problems but I feel as though I did my part to make sure.On my first order I found a bunch of Excedrin for $1.99,with my $2 coupons and got some other great deals,walked out of there with $113 worth of stuff for $14.

I used mine 3 times yesterday at 3 different stores (northern NC). It scanned with no problem and the only comments I got from the cashiers were "Wow, I wish I had some of these!" and my FL's are VERY un-coupon-friendly most of the time. I do think that people using it 5-10 times in ONE TRIP is a little much, and calls attention to a good thing to the point that others can't enjoy even one coupon deal. I'm sorry for those that had such a bad time.

Well...I used my last 2 yesterday and I'm broke.

Each time I used it I went over the limit of $25. I can assure you that Foodlion has gotten a lot of my business in the past 4-5 years since they opened a new store by my house. I would much rather go in here and spend an extra dollar or two, than deal with the attitudes at walmart. I also spend more money in this store buying things that I don't need! I love walking around in it and finding the clearance items. But, if anyone in that store ever accused me of coupon fruad.....I don't know how I would handle myself in that situation. It would not be very nice! I am very well old enough to know the difference between a good coupon and fruad! I'm with the rest of you, that is a strong word to me.

I'm so sorry some of you had such a bad experience with this coupon.

yes well said MONIA i feel the same way if they did want it to be use then dont put this in a paper, sounds like they didnt think it was going to get around as much as it did!!!!like they have not hear of the INTERNET
